4 wheel steering not working gggrrrrrrr
new owner of 93 svx...jdm, 4ws model.
pulled codes for light on in dash....... says its a blown fuse, but fuse (under hood) is fine. can move rear wheels when powered up (disconnected ) wires in boot, so not the 4ws motor. it has had a new steering rack in the past??? ecu had a couple of blown diodes but have replaced those, would love to have the 4ws going..... would handle even better if thats possable. anybody out there with a spare ecu i could try?? new zealand, dunedin, dave |

Re: 4 wheel steering not working gggrrrrrrr
The rear wheels don't start to turn until about 30 mph IIRC. And they'll turn more as the speed increases. If you look at youtube videos of other cars with 4ws, you can just barely see the rear wheels turning even at higher speeds. That doesn't mean it's not making a big difference with handling though. If you want to read up on it, I think the system that's most similar to the SVX one is the later Nissan HICAS electronic 4ws. (I think the SVX system may actually be related, but there's no way to know for sure without asking some japanese engineers). Basically the system found in twin-turbo Z32 300ZXes.
Glad you got it fixed
