Hit And Run In Portland, OR...

Ugh. My poor SVX was the victim of a hit and run. I stayed the night at a friend's house and ended up parking on the street. I woke up the next morning to find the damage shown in the pictures. Looks like someone backed into my car and couldn't be bothered to leave a note. My insurance covers Hit And Runs. But... I know body damage can add up quickly. What are the chances of my SVX being totaled? It's a '94 green front wheel drive model. I'd hate to lose it over something like this. Thanks for your help.

Thats not a bad hit at all!

Worst case scenario, you buy the easily bolted on fender and side marker and replace it yourself.

That's what I'm hoping, but I panicked when I saw it and filed a claim. (The claims person hasn't called me back yet.) I haven't taken it to a body shop for an estimate. Anyone have an idea for a ballpark figure?

From the looks of things, new fender, new turn signal, refinish the bumper and blending the paint a little bit. Should easily stay under $1k in damages

You might ask around, see if anyone saw anything. With that little damage, if the person was driving a truck or something, they might not have even known they hit you. Hell, even if they total it, buy it back and fix it yourself...

i wouldn't be surprised if your deduct. is more than the repair. you can probably grab these parts off people on the network and have a body shop spray for you.
