Re: Glass Sunroof??

The pictures look like the one I had installed in my GLF back in the day. Only thing it was manual and only popped up no full open. Or you could remove it and store it in a supplied bag in the trunk.. The dealer back then was also getting glass electric sliders installed $800 . ( the whole car was only $6,000. and the sun roof leaked. ) My 1992 Sport Sedan had a Leakey one too. So dealers could get a lot of aftermarket stuff. I could have had a whole leather interior done in the Sport Sedan for $1,000 . After market was big back in the day.

A sunroof assembly from Pick n Pull is $42.99, wanna pay for it?

EDIT: Actually I'd need to take the whole headliner, button assembly, sunroof assembly, and all the nuts n bolts. Y'all sure you want it still?

Re: Glass Sunroof??

Yea, go get that thing before it gets crushed! LMK how much everything costs, and how much you want for your trouble. The headliner might be too much of a PITA to ship, but I have an extra one I can modify. PM me to discuss in more detail.

Re: Glass Sunroof??

Well, sadly that was a failure. The sunroof was stuck in the vent position, and while trying to manually slide the glass back (no manual override, so I had to literally pull on it) to get to the remaining bolts, the plastic bits in the rails broke and the glass cracked. But here are the photos I did get of it!

The slightly ghetto button arrangement

The factory light buttons were wrapped up in duct tape and shoved into the headliner...

Socket where the factory dome light went

And this is how it was rigged into place. Classy eh? You can also see how they mangled the roof pillars to get the drain tubes in.
