I'm having some heating issues, and want to replace the thermostat, but I can't seem to see the thermostat housing. COuld someone tell me where it is?
Thanks Chuck E. |

Re: Where is the thermostat housing?
Drivers side,
bottom of the engine, the lower radiator hose goes to it, two 10mm head bolts hold it.

Re: Where is the thermostat housing?
Thanks, I've never seen one on the bottom of the motor, all the ones i've worked with are on the top of the engine.
Which way does the water flow? from the top, through the radiator to the bottom, and back to the block through the thermostat, or from the thermostat at the bottom through the radiator and back to the block through the top hose? Thanks Chuck E. |

Re: Where is the thermostat housing?
Hot water always enters a radiator from the top, because as it cools it gets heavier and naturally migrates lower.
Hot water heater in a house works like that as well. Both pipes usually enter the top of the heater, but the cold water enters the heater internally at the bottom, heats up, rises, then exits out the top. |
