New Pics For Spring - My 1992 Pearlie

Every spring I take a set of photos of my SVX. This year is a bit different since I'm actually driving my SVX. I actually have already put 2000 miles on it just this year. That's saying a lot as I put less than 1000 miles on it in 2010 and 2011 combined!

Anyway, on to the pics!

I'm a big fan of urban decay, and like using settings like that for my pictures. I feel that the roughness of the background provides an interesting contrast with how pristine the car itself is. Here's another good example.

They are the motorsport warehouse springs. The ride is nice, and the stance of the car is perfect. The quality of them, however, is pretty poor. They are very very rusty as the coating has all come off of them, and I have never driven my car in the winter. Had i known, I would have sanded them down and painted them with something better when I first got them. I have a set of the fully adjustable coilovers coming from the guy in France (hopefully), so I haven't made fixing these springs a priority.

I'm loving the 5 speed. In fact, I have only driven my A6 once since getting the 5 speed installed. I have driven my SVX every day, and i have a 100 mile round-trip commute. The only reason i drove my A6 that one day also, is because it snowed quite a bit and they salted. (Plus, i'm guessing pilot sports dont work too well in the snow).

I was able to get the horn working. It was actually pretty obvious once I actually looked at it. I was able to hook it up in the parking lot of the inspection station as I had forgotten until the last minute when I took the car to get its annual state safety inspection (Which it passed with flying colors, I might ad!)

This car has certainly been an ongoing labor of love. The amount of time, and ESPECIALLY money that I've put into this car over the past 4 years would probably disgust even the most dedicated svxer.

I made the decision that I was going to make this car what I wanted it to be, without regard for trying to be able to recover my money if I ever sold it. Being in the car business, I have always been programmed to think about turning a profit if I ever sell a car, but I completely broke from those ideals with this car. I really made this car everything I want it to me, and I don't intend on ever selling it.
