Re: QUICK SHIFT on ebay
Thanks John, hmmm I would want to know a bit more before I fitted one.
Is it a micro-controller or a box of relays ? Since nothing is ever free I wonder what sort of battle is going on between the two competing control systems ? The weird shifting is an acquired taste on the SVX, I did read somewhere they used Fuzzy Logic to determine the shifts (very 1980's) and that is why after an hour cruising on the motorway the damn thing will not allow you to accelerate without flooring the throttle. After driving it for so long my brain has been remapped, so I anticipate needing to floor it. I cant think of anything I would want to replace it with. Arthur |

Arthur[/QUOTE I fitted it and didn't like it, not to say it's no good but would suit those who are looking for a more 'spirited' ride. I have come to the conclusion that the SVX suits me fine the way Subaru intended, and to keep it running in these times of £1.35 lt 4* ...... no more lead boots! John

Re: QUICK SHIFT on ebay
Phil, its a 97 car, you had seen Gez's silver 97 one so it will be the same s/w Rev as that. I used to drive past it most days, but I think he has moved so I dont know what happened to the car.
The shift on mine has always been the same, I did email you with a description of it a couple of years ago I think. It fits the Fuzzy Logic strategy I read about. I also have a an Auto Forester (2005, 156bhp) and that is a how it should be, it responds to throttle angle and rate of change perfectly. John, I wondered if you had tried it, the fact we are still driving these things says enough about them. I still have the 350Z for sunny days ! I have scratches on my bonnet, I think I polished it with a cloth that had grit on it - doh. Its not so bad, but the rest of the paint is like new, so if you see a green one being broken, I might have the bonnet off it. Arthur |
