Re: ECUtune Stage II reviews

Hey guys,

Huge difference in power at the top end. It took the ecu a few runs to figure out how much timing was needed, and it pulled timing pretty aggressively the first few runs before coming to a perfect place, and the car smells as though it has a much healthier burn. My ECU definetly had issues learning in the proper amount of advance and functions much better with a full advance and retard. No knock during the proccess. I need to get to the track.

I do not want to tell you how much faster the car feels as you would not believe me. It should have no problem breaking the 12 second barrier. I thought that Mike had removed the rev limiter because I kept hitting fuel cut at 7K in first gear. Turns out that the car is accelerating faster than the Tach keeps up and I am actually up around 7600rpm when the tac reads 7.

Oh man, I cannot wait...

I am not too familiar with your car, so if I may ask, what powertrain upgrades and mods do you have? I am curious because you say it will break the 12 second mark. That would make it the fastest SVX I have heard of.

I remember LAN saying he was building a sub 10-second car that was breathing methane but I never heard anything else about it.

Re: ECUtune Stage II reviews

If only I knew how much power to expect from my build, but I am in somewhat uncharted territory. Hopefully similar though!

All the excitement is gonna make me...hold on....

Re: ECUtune Stage II reviews

Been a while since this thread was updated!

Any long-term updates? Especially those with forced induction.

One 4.44 SVX with a blower and Stage2,
one 5 speed SVX with cams Stage2, and no blower.
They both run fine.

Re: ECUtune Stage II reviews

Nice. I'm actually going AEM FIC8.
What kinda boost are you pushing? Stock internals? Stock cams?

I'm looking to run 10ish lbs, 420top feed injectors.

Re: ECUtune Stage II reviews

Mine is not intercooled, running @ around 5 PSI turbo charged. Around 280hp. Performance is effortless - not explosive .

AFR is around 11,5 when open loop, into which it goes rather easily. Stock cat and central muffler - low restriction rear mufflers, but very, very low sound level.

Engine otherwise all stock. JDM driveline with torque biasing diffs at both ends.

I think it is a well balanced package.

The only real glitch is a very low idle speed when the radiator fans are not running..... for example in deep snow the engine may stall if I lift the accelerator off too quickly. Also, the AFR fluctuates quite dramatically when either depressing or releasing the throttle when in closed loop. It goes way up to 15-16 for a second when depressing and way down to 10-11 when releasing. May have something to do with the (change in) recirculation of the compressor air thru the by pass valve - dumping warm air back into the compressor inlet will have an effect on the MAF signal. This is not a driveability issue, just an observation.

Funny thing I have noticed is that the transmisison temp light flickers at extremely low revs (at almost engine stall)..... the TCU loses the erev - signal, I guess

/T
