Steel brake line leaking, HELP!!!

I just installed new rotors and pads, even painted the calipers and stuff. As we were bleeding the brakes, a steel line that runs across the rear from the drivers side caliper to a junction (which I can't see) popped a leak right at one of the clips that secure the steel line(s). I have traced the line forward from near the caliper, but then it tucks in above (the rear suspension cradle?) and disappears behind the gas tank filler neck/hose. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Is there a pre-formed line available or should I just try to put a joint in there with a new brake line? Do you have to remove the gas tank filler hose and ? or what? (AND HOW,If needed?) I had hoped to be finished with the brakes and was scheduled for the muffler shop tomorrow, but it looks like I'm in trouble with the brake line, so who knows when I'll be ready Anyone??
