Hi Brian!
I am glad that you can be there!
Reading being a gathering of friends!
2 cans refried beans
about 1 jar salsa
green onions, about 3 bunches
1 bag shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2-3 avacados
(regular) onion
lemon juice
salt
1 container sour cream.

Slice green onions into thin pieces. Separate white part from green parts..

Peel avacados. Finely grate a little of the regular onion. Mash avacados w/potato masher, add grated onion, a little lemon juice and some salt. This will be the guacamole.

In cake pan , make first layer from the beans, smashing them flat w/a fork or spoon.
Use salsa for 2nd layer.
Use chopped white part of green onions for next layer.
Use cheese for next layer.

Bake in oven at 350 degrees until cheese is melted.

Remove from oven.

Spread guac on melted cheese.
Spread sour cream on guac.
Sprinkle w/green onion tops.

Work may be effecting me as well. I'm still trying to see what I can do.

Tom,

And how many times would I have to multiply the recipe to accomodate the whole Reading crowd? I'll tell you what: if you have all the ingredients and "hardware" waiting for me when I arrive - and an oven and workspace - I'll whip up a batch!

And let me know if there's going to be a pre-Reading Pittsburgh mini meet this year for those flying through Greater Pitt and otherwise passing through the area.

Well, the Great Northwest crowd isn't coming this year and the jury's still out on the Texas crowd.

If we don't have to pick anybody up, we'll most likely not make it up there since Tom is up to his eyeballs in pre-Reading (and other) work.

As soon as we figure out our schedule for Friday, i.e., what time we're leaving, we'll let you know -- maybe you can meet up with us on the way. We should be getting on the PA turnpike at Bedford.

If anything changes, I'll PM you.

Would an outdoor propane grille work?

Re: Reading ELEVEN sign-up list

Well I am minus both my svxes and they'll not be ready in time for the meet. I still have not got an engine for the claret and the emerald i think will cost to much for the body work. I will still make it to the meet. I'll just kinda feel like a jackass driving a dakota to an svx meet especially my first one. But I want to meet everyone and make contacts as I'll probably need them with all the repair I have to do.

Don't worry, last year I showed up in a Durango. Nothing wrong with that. And this year, I'll have my rusting out $500 laguna FWD
Being here is all that matters, even if its not in an SVX.

"Meet up"? Heck, we even put people up and lend them SVXi to drive!

Not sure yet what time we'll be leaving on Friday -- every year I shoot for 9 a.m., but most of the time we don't get on the road till noon or so. If you can get an early start (you're about 2-1/2 or 3 hours away from us, depending on how you drive) feel free to join our "convoy". We're actually on the way (if you take I68 east to Cumberland).

We have a friend who lives just off Rt. 50 near Smithsburg, so we're familiar with the route.
