You're supposed to explain what a snipe is, then review the hunt procedure, then get him lost in the woods before you sneak back to camp, then wait for him to return and let him know what a "snipe hunt" is...

Dave,
Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking .... figured the cross axis inflation with AWD would have tipped it

Today was filled with my first attempt at playing with Fiberglass to make "something" for the racer.

I'll be away tomorrow. Do I need to go down into the basement in my jammies to get it tonight? Or can you wait a couple of days?

Last autoX event prior to Subaru Challenge...

Had a rough day at the office yesterday at a local event with my regional SCCA club. All four of my runs felt so-so, and my first run ended up being my fastest for the day.

Finished 4th out of 6 in D-Stock, and 27th out of 98 in PAX. In D-Stock, I was beaten by two solid autoXers co-driving an orange Neon SRT-4 ACR on Avon Tech R r-comps. An experienced driver in a MazdaSpeed 6 on street tires also sneaked past my time on his fourth and final run.

A few pics:

Only positive note, was that I beat Chuck Vega in his blue '06 WRX wagon by over 2 seconds (Chuck is a regular with the WDCR @ Fedex and has finished as high as 4th in D-stock: http://solo.wdcr-scca.org/results/20060730.php)

-Chike

P.S. Btw, I'll have a co-driver for my car at the Subaru Challenge. Shawn Roberts, the current points leader in STS2 with the WDCR and who won STS2 at the National Solo Tour event in New England earlier this year, will be co-driving my car. He'll be off to Topeka a few weeks later.

Chike,
Make sure to bring a big sprayer for your tires! I had a co-driver last year and my Hoosier were cooking by the third and fourth runs -- which means they lost "stick" in a major way. My co-driver ran off and got a sprayer before his last run and I watched the water evaporate off of the tires when I first sprayed them Of course he then went out and had his fastest time of the day

I wish I could be there.
Next year has to be better!

I just now spoke with Jerry, and he tells me there are two more Cumberland Autocross weekends yet this year, this coming weekend, and the weekend of October 28-29!
http://www.nationalroadrally.com/2006events.html
So I/We will get in one last autocross!

I think I'll even try driving!

How close am I supposed to get to the wall, Bill?
