Steering Wheel Shake When Stopped
So I have been noticing that when I have to move the car, especially when cold, the steering becomes stiff and the wheel will actually shake violently as I approach either lock. This is when the car is either not moving of moving very slowly. At highway speeds, it's perfect.
I was told that the rack looks rather worn and flat, so that is on the list for this spring (not looking forward to that adventure). Would a worn rack cause this or is there something else I should be looking at? The pump doesn't make any abnormal noises, the belt is good and tight, and there is plenty of fluid in the pump's res. As always, thanks guys! -Randy |

Re: Steering Wheel Shake When Stopped
It could be air in the system. The P/S reservoir O-Ring is almost free to fix, you could give that a try and see if it makes life better.

Re: Steering Wheel Shake When Stopped
I'm with Crazy_pilot. I had a bubble or two of air in my system due to an engine pull...violent shaking! I ran the steering wheel lock to lock and it magically stopped. Worth a try, doesn't cost a thing.
