FS 14 sec. 5mt svx

Well I want to sell the 5mt so I can go 6mt in the silver if it does not sell before the 5mt. It is an Ebony with some body damage but nothing that keeps it from driving. 113k on the clock. Interior is beige which is very clean.

Below is a list of MODS not maint that has been done

-5 speed with 4.11 gears
-Spec Stage 2 kevlar clutch
-Kartboy Short throw shifter and stiffened bushings
-Custom driveshaft(not shimmed)
-Custom Crossmember made by Subafreak
-Custom true dual magnaflow high flow exhaust made by Subafreak
-New rear diff
-low mileage engine.
-Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
-Walboro fuel pump
-Koni struts (3-4 months old)
-Eibach Springs with Ground Control Perches(same time as Konis)
-RX-7 wheels wrapped in Pirelli P zero Nero M+S 225/50 r 16s with 20 locking lugnuts
-PWR all Aluminum Radiator
-Silicone Hoses with Summit t-bar clamps
-Alpine headunit
-Pioneer 6x9's in the rear deck
-Battery relocated into the trunk
-Cold Air intake in the fender with Green Performance Air Filter
-Drilled and slotted rotors with Axxis semi-metalics
-Rebuilt front calipers
-Clear Headligths and Corners
-Stripped tags except the front emblem

And some general Maint.
-Oil changes every 2500
-New seals on the engine
-"Newer" alternator
-Fresh gear oil every 5000

As is I am asking $8k
With newer(non grinding in second gear trans) $8500

A few things I could take off of the car to reduce the price

-Minus Koni/GC suspension(stock) -$500
-Minus RX-7 wheels and pirellis (BFG tires w/ 100% tread stock 92 wheels)-$200
-Minus Walboro fuel pump and adjustable regulator -$100
-Minus PWR Radiator(stock rad with stock hoses) -$200
-Minus Cold air intake(stock airbox Perrin foam filter) -$150
-Minus Stage 2 ECUtune with Z32 MAF-$200
-Minus Clear headlights- $100

There are more things I could take off of the car and replace with stock items so let me know if you are interested

Tom

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
I will say this;
When I drove Tom's SVX, on the street, at the Subaru Challange, I was blown away!
While driving up an winding blacktop road, the thing stuck to the pavement like no other SVX, or Subaru, that I have ever driven!!!
And I have driven ALOT of SVXi!
It felt like I could whip into a 360, in the road and drive right out of it!
The response was instant.

My Claret has stiffer (than stock) springs, poly anti-sway bar bushings, lightweight 17s with 45 series Hancooks, is lightened, (under 3400) and has a reduced polar movement, due to the type of lightening, and his still responded quicker and with more control!

It is a very impressive car to drive! Old Tom.

Tom 5spd "tt",

I hope you can sell your either car or solve your finiancial problem soon.

Tom supercharged "old" does carry some weight in his words, ppl!! I met with him couple times and I knew his passion for subaru.

PS: is that any way if you want to work on my yellow svx? help me to convert it to 5spd yellow Time isn't a problem, you can take 1-2 months to work on her, if you have a place to park and take care of her for me. I'm looking at "cost-of-value" to determine what I'm going to do with my yellow one.(for example, a famous local rebuilt shop can do a rebuilt for me for 1850 with 18mths/18k miles so I don't have worry about for 2yrs - if I go 4.44 yes I have spd I love it but it's used tranny no warranty...and, I probably have to spend 1200...) You can give me an estimate to see if I can afford to go with this route, (give me a good rate ) You can help me to have a 5spd yellow, and, I keep and love my car more, and, you can make some money from me and try help to solve abit of your finiancial plan. PM if my mailbox not full. Or Tom superchaged "the-old-cool-man" has my cellphone#.

Anyway, I wish all the best to you and I'm trying to explore more possibilites for us.

I can definitely vouche for this car....

I think the damage really isnt that bad.

I got to drive it

Lemme tell you this thing is a beast!!!!

Tom took my car for a spin to verify some of the issues its having. But then I got to take his around for a ride in the city and highway. My overall driving impression:

It's a lot more difficult to drive than other 5 speed manuals I've driven (but then again i'm not the greatest 5 speed driver), mostly because the idle on the svx is a lot lower and the clutch is much more "precise". Either you get the friction point right on and feather it out or you stall, like what I did. Basically its a lot less forgiving than most cars, but if you can drive a 5 speed well you shouldnt have a problem.

Once I got going man what a rush! The car feels so agile and responsive to throttle. It felt a LOT lighter than my svx and very nimble. I took it through the same corners I usually drive on and where mine would have some lean Tom's car cornered very flat. The Koni/GC didn't feel too harsh in my opinion, and I definitely loved the performance. Tom kept egging me on to floor it and go to wide open throttle but I was already in shock of how much faster it is than an automatic.

Something is very different with his steering also. His steering response is so much better and lighter feeling than mine, as it takes a lot less force to keep the wheel turned when going around a sharp bend. Mine is the LS-L with speed sensitive steering as well and his felt wayyyy better.

I almost missed a turn but i cut the wheel really fast and the svx didn't argue. It just turned without a peep. Exhaust notes weren't as loud as I thought it was going to be a with a true dual. There were a few vibrations while driving, and the second gear grinds (but that is getting replaced).

This is truly so much different from a stock svx. It really is worth the price.

I drove home saying damn, I wanna drive it again...lol

P.S. Tom did not pay me to write this. This was my first "mini-meet" and I def cant wait till the December one.

working for MRB i have driven alot of sports cars ferrari's, porsche's and jag's and i have to say, toms car is the best five speed and clutch i have ever driven. ITS LIKE BUTTER. it clicks from gear to gear (except for second) like it has a mind of its own. that and its one of the best handleing cars i have driven. if i had 8500 i would own this car. but i don't

grumble.... stupid college taking money out of the car funds.

Bump for Tom,

Like he said people, He can take out most of the aftermarket parts to drop the price if desired. With the stock suspension, stock wheels with NEW tires, stock fuel pump, stock rad, airbox, and ecu, you can get this car for like $7000 in 5speed goodness.
