Doing a Mild Restore soon, a few questions.
I've been planning on doing a mild restore/rebuild of my svx sometime next year. It won't be anything way too in-depth I think, but I have a few questions on how I should go about doing it. What I plan on doing is pulling the motor and doing a complete reseal, using the gasket kit from Subaru(the $300 one). I don't plan on building the entire engine completely, just all of the normal wear parts. I want to do the Water and Oil pumps, Timing belt, I was also thinking of replacing all of the external hoses but saw in another thread that it would cost about $1k. What else should I do to the motor while I have it apart? I don't plan on going with the forged pistons/rods/pins etc as I don't see my self going s/c anytime soon.
Also, when I have the motor out and apart I want to convert to AWD and 5speed at the same time. For the AWD I know that I need the:
Lastly(I hope), I plan on getting the GC coilovers to use in conjunction with my Konis. I think my Konis are leaking now, as they sag so much that the rear wheels are almost 1" tucked in the fenderwell. I want to send them back to get new/rebuilt ones under warranty. If they're leaking the should get replaced for free right? I'm not too educated on this so any input would be great. Anyway back to the GC springs, what would be a good spring rate for me? Being it's a daily driver and occasional Autox-er, I don't want it to be too rough, but I want it stiff enough that it can handle pretty well in racing. I think I may have to replace the strut top mounts because I've heard Konis w/ stock springs tend to ruin them. What should I look for when I take them apart? Ok, now this is it, I promise. And also I'm going to upgrade to the Race Concepts brake kit that OT distributes. How hard is it to switch out to the stainless lines? I'm sure compared to what I listed above, this should be a piece of cake. Lastly, I'm just gonna clean everything up around the engine bay/underbody. Clean up all of the spot rust, give some of the suspenion pieces a coat of rust preventing paint, etc. All-in-all, any general feedback on what I should get or how I should go about doing this would be great. It won't be happening for a while since I don't have many funds right now to afford it, plus winter is practically here, with it snowing less than 2hrs from me. Thanks guys/gals

Only tid-bit I can give is that I replaced almost all the hoses under the hood with withe factory ones or crush resistant silicon ones for around 150. this even included the stupid windshield squirter lines.

With a 5MT you'll need an extended driveshaft, or a Legacy one. YT sells extended SVX driveshafts with his kit I believe.
