Re: front tow hooks
I just drive carefully as I do with any car...
They are extremely useful when hauling SVXi over hundreds of miles |

Re: front tow hooks
Mine were both bent when I bought the car. I heated them up and bent them straight and haven't had a problem since.

Re: front tow hooks
I never have to the best of my knowledge, but the drivers side is bent. Might have been used to jack the car at some point for all I know.

Re: front tow hooks
Why have you cut your front springs? That dosent sound too safe.

Re: front tow hooks
I've hit them when leaving my friends driveway. So now I have to park at the top of the driveway.

Re: front tow hooks
I got the one on the drivers side bent slightly and ground off a little bit, but the other one looks in good shape. I have never had a problem though. Could be I am used to driving other cars that are so low to the ground. I do not drive up close to the parking lot curb thing.

It's not too bad, actually, but with the 18"s he had on it, it rubbed. Stock rims are back on it, so it don't rub no more, but it still sits real low in the front. Took me a while to get used to, but now I know well enough how to keep the tow hooks off the ground. Still some steep driveways, etc. that I consider off-limits. Going slow and at an angle over steep stuff makes it feasible to get pretty much everywhere. Already got Dayle's drop springs sitting in the garage waiting for spring break so I cap put em on. Should actually lift up the front and lower the back, evening it out and making it more normal. |

Re: front tow hooks
All of the ones on my SVXs are worn or bent when I got them.
One of them the tow part was very badly worn. Only about 2 or so mm left before it wares thru. Sometimes on steeper angeled drive ways and roads my ones would hit.
