If the arcing is below the fuse link and within the socket assembly, you will have to look for a mechanical problem which is causing poor contact. Follow your nose.

Ok ok ok ok ok ok. i think now its my thermastat. Its still running real hot and even when it starts to get hot the needle will go all the way to the red and go down to normal and go back and forth. Im thinking that the thermastat is the problem. Because water will be coming out of the plastic resivor and make that boiling sound.
Anything eles it might be????? |

DO NOT DO THIS WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT!!!
Do the following when the engine is COLD: - start the car - with the engine idling, open the radiator cap and see if there are bubbles forming. - if it is, then you probably need a new headgasket I saw this happen on my friends civic, he had the headgasket replaced and things have been fine since. |

That sounds like what my Taurus was doing, temperature bouncing from hig to normal and back quickly. A new thermostat solved the problem, and a rad flush got rid of the 6 year old coolant to make sure no gunk ruined my shiney new thermostat.

Park the car so that the radiator is the highest point. In the morning when the engine is cold, take the radiator cap off, to check that the water level is right up to the cap, if not fill it up, and check it again the next morning. Harvey.

This is not a likely indication of an air lock. However if the above is carried out as a precaution, idle the engine while filling slowly, and make sure the heater is on.
