I'm not sure yet Huck.
It's only 37" tall right now, and probably 36" after styrafoam (and faced fiberglass).
Unless I put the insulation against the bottom of the roof...
But it has a ridge vent, so thats out...

The ladder is the easiest and cheapest.

And the entire ceiling above the lift area will be the second floor, so to speak.

I am a big fan of lots and lots of shelving.
So I can see stuff rather than try to remember where I put things.

I am sure you know what I'm talking about.

Where was I going with this??

Oh, LOOK, a birdie.

In any event, we could make it a meet, and I'll throw in a case of Asti (which I have heard is your beverage of choice) for a late launching ceremony for your garage. I just need to find a track day group that has instructors for noobies at that track. Learned my lesson at Lime Rock about driving a new track without some laps with an instructor.

Back to your thread. Yeah fun. I used to take on major projects around the house, none so large as building a garage, but digging french drains and a sump and installing a pump in the unifinished part of the basement in my house in Atlanta, after the furnace and water heater were flooded out. Doing some roof repair after a limb fell through the roof into my dining room. All somewhat grueling, but a real feeling of accomplishment when it was over. But no time now. Best I can do is draw the garage construction documents on my laptop on the train during my commute. I've become a "suit."

Dan
Dan, I was going back through this thread and I just read this for the first time!?!? (Wednesday night)

I don't know how I mised it, but THANK YOU!!!
Back on 11-26 it was Sunday night and I was probably hard at work on the garage and stressed or under a car and stressed...

A day at the track sounds GREAT!

As does the Asti.

I wonder if the track guys wil let us combine the two?

Thanks again.
Tom.

Tom,
When I dropped my car off, we talked about the use of T-111 siding for theinside of the garage, and I mentioned that is what I did for mine. And I promised pics. But I forgot I had some in my locker. Check out http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/user.php?newsvx|32881 for the pics.

Your garage really looks good - and I am envious of the "lift"!!!

Looking forward to getting the Pearly back!!

Harry

Harry:

I'm trying to promote a track day meet at Summit Point on Friday May 12. See my thread - http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...078#post444078

According to NERDS Racing (http://www.nerdsracing.com/event_list_03_a.htm), there's a Friday at the Track (FATT) event on that day. I have sent an email to BSR to confirm the date. I would probably be interested in driving Seat Time the next day assuming it was on, and that I had qualified to solo there. Would you be interested?

Not really a hijack as thread author (SVXfiles) has introduced this topic to this thread already.

I talked to him earlier while he was in the middle of completing his first one. And I think that to say that it is not his favorite thing to do is putting it mildly.

Working in tight spaces under the dash seems to try his patience the most.
