Not in the US. US cars came with the trans that has just a clutch and is FWD mechanical drive and rear drive is manipulated somewhere between 0 and a theoretical max of 50%. It is vastly inferior to the double planetary VTD.

Be glad you have it. The car drives like a FWD car with the US style. Especially as the trans ages and the rear torque goes down

Washed it, waxed it with Meguiar's carnuba wax, buffed it with a lambs wool power buffer and put it on eBay.

See it under Race Cars (not street legal)/ Road Racing. Buy it.

Repaired/upgraded the Alternator wires, hopefully no more intermittent christmas tree lights and stalling

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Saturday: Took a wire wheel to the parts that came out of my electrolysis bath, washed them, and then got the paint out. Before/after comparison:

Sunday: Dropped my fuel tank to I can tackle the totally ****ed up lines back there. That droopy thing is a brake line that some halfwit mangled into place (didn't even bother removing the old blown ones, the spots where they touched were causing the newer ones to corrode badly). The rust spots on the chassis are going to get cleaned up and painted with POR-15. Should be good after that.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I had overfilled the 5EAT in the Outback.... by a quart. Drained it out and it APPEARS that the cold start issues I had are gone.... I've driven it only once since and the ambient was 7 C... so not really cold.

The problem was, it went into "uphill maps" and was very reluctant to shift up for the first mile (after the first steep hill). Also, the shift from 2nd to 3rd was harsh.

Anyone with similar experiences?

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Had a 4 wheel alignment job done today - the toe was out quite a bit, both sides - one minus, one plus.... all others were suprisigly close to spec considering I have replaced all joints....

Tracks real straight and true now - a huge difference !

Thanks! I ordered some POR-15 for the rear subframe, so it should look ultra-pretty when completed and be immune to rust forever. I'm also going to get my hands on some 3M urethane to fill in and stiffen the bushings. They're all in fairly good shape so I don't want to go through the work of digging the old ones out.

Yeah but you have them off the car, you might as well replace the bushings. You went through all that work after all . Then again I have no idea what the aftermarket is like regarding bushings for the SVX.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Don't know if this qualifies as having done something for my SVX or not.. Bought a "donor" car a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately not salvageable, but my SVX now has her own supply of spare parts that should get her five to ten years more.

I'm going to endeavor to send as little to the crusher as possible, I'm going to preserve, bag and tag everything that I can that I would foreseably use. The rest I'll post up for sale when I can. I'd rather that, than just see it slowly disintegrate. I can't tie up a spot at my mechanic's shop forever, but I won't throw away the irreplaceable either.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Ummm, bought a few more over the past few weeks. Including PhastSVX's former turbo SVX which will slowly be getting a complete overhaul to bring her up to speed over the next calendar year from now.
