What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Replaced the aircon controller with one that Shane Hobson had as a spare - now just got to figure why the one in my car kept going to min. temperature all the time....will do a write up about what I find.

Is your a RHD unit that reads in C?

The Capacitors on the board (i think 3 of them) tended to fail, there is a few write ups on it. I know a guy here florida that modified a JDM unit to fit in the USDM hvac housing he had that problem and he unsoldered the caps and replaced them fixed the problem.

Yes it is RHD & reads in C - got the Japanese link (I posted here earlier) - so just got to desolder them & get new ones from my work place.

This tells of his conversion to the jdm unit, inside the usdm housing, and his problems with the temp going down, and his eventual fix.

The short version is he cleaned the board it seemed to have corroded, and replaced 3 caps, I think he tells which ones.

Today the side skirts, trunk, and grille went back on. Then I took the car for a quick zip around the block because I missed the exhaust note.

Mostly finished the sub woofer box for the trunk. We got a good price on a cheap 12" sub and tried to follow the recommended volume for best response. Final outside dimensions about 33"X7"X14". Used 3/4" MDF and covered it with the same vinyl we used on interior pieces. Not cutting edge but should do the job.

This was the second attempt as the first had vinyl problems at the sharp corners. Solved by router-ing a 1/2" radius on the long edges.
