Re: H6 EZ30 into STi
I wonder how an SVX would do with an EZ36? (3.6L H-6 out of the new Tribeca) they are ~260hp if I remember correctly.

Re: H6 EZ30 into STi
And they are about 10-15lbs lighter too.... If ever were to buy a second svx and wanted to do anything to it I would consider this swap, depending on how expensive the motor and wiring harness could be had for...

Re: H6 EZ30 into STi
The 3.6L is not a new idea for me. I would love to!

who would go through the trouble of doing an engine swap to gain 26hp?

It's all about area under the curve, and I'll betcha that the EZ36 has got plenty more under 5000 RPM. Its torque peak is at 4400; that's a good start.

Re: H6 EZ30 into STi
Doing that swap for -10~15lbs and +26hp peak is not worth it in my opinion.
In that case, you can go the more reliable and cheaper route of CF hood and trunk battery.

i don't think they are free - that's why i basically think its not worth it. if it had 300+hp, then, yeah, but 26hp is only going to be slightly noticeable on the ol' butt-dyno.

Re: H6 EZ30 into STi
dont they have variable valve timing as well? This motor in a SVX would make a noticeable difference IMHO...

Re: H6 EZ30 into STi
You have to take into considoration the extra displacement, the VVT, the weight, and the obdII restrictions put on the car from factory. I bet that the motor as is with a different map and the basic bolt ons would produce something in the mid 300whp range. It's like a VQ35 for our cars essentially. The only issue is, again, the price.
