I saw the Toyota version at the local dealership, I didn't feel the car at all. It is just another underpowered Nissan 350z to me.. The funny thing, looking at the engine bay, the fenders are pressed "Subaru" among other stuff

Weight BRZ: 2762 lbs. Hyundai: 3554 lbs. Length BRZ: 166" Hyundai: 182" Wheelbase: BRZ: 101" Hyundai: 111" Height: BRZ: 50" Hyundai: 54" Not to mention center of gravity and weight distribution on the BRZ. Cars like the Hyundai and the 350z don't even come close. The BRZ is practically in a different class. The BRZ is a tiny car... only the Miata comes into comparison. Some may argue that the Hyundai has more power... yes, but there is nothing like driving a 2800lbs. car compared to a 3500lbs. car. Power can't make up for agility and handling. I'm not talking about lap times... I'm talking about seat of your pants fun. Last edited by dbarnblatt; 10-07-2012 at 02:01 PM. |

i'll take my EVO's double the hp and the extra 800lbs.
the Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs and Brembo brakes don't hurt, either.

You have to not be shooting blanks to hurt anyone.

Having both a BRZ and SVX in my driveway.. they handle somewhat similar to me. The BRZ is like the baby brother to the SVX.. the BRZ has a slightly lower drag coefficient and it weighs less but power wise feels the same. The seats are awesome and I've already contemplated test fitting them However, I understand Larry's description - the BRZ sits really low and with the bucket-esk seats - you kind of fall into the seats and may need to pull yourself out. Considering they have already gotten a BRZ to 500hp on a stock long block... well it's an improvement if you can get in & out of the car. my driveway:

I have a VTD car with a totally unsuitable rubber compound by Toyos, my SVX is a quite tailhappy car. The ill points handling wise except for weight are the bushings, bars and struts (or.. the whole, old suspension). It's not a precision knife and other reports had it the BRZ is. Again, can't wait.
