Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
First, check the code. If the check engine light came on then there is a code stored.

Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
The car will not start. I hve try to read the error code.
But the chekengine light only flash. will not stop. And the lamba are also chage. This is how the car act. 1. I put the key in on position and wait for the fuel pump to stop. (only way to start) 2. Then i turn the key to start. 3. So the car start at 1000rpm then it rev to 1900 then stop. After doing this some times it smell gas in the garage. (no leak) This happen every time. The fuel filter are also chage last winter. I have had a accident whit the battery it ''blow'' whit start cable. And the fuse line in the fuse box (in engine) goes. This have been replced. After this the car wont go right. The fuel pump dont stop after the engine stop about 2sec. Some one think what this can bee?

I would check the pump modulator under the rear deck to see if it is damaged, as the ECU runs it full speed, during the prime, but the modulator won't switch to low speed for normal idling. The pumps ground wire is a yellow wire that runs to the momulator. Try just grounding the yellow wire to see if the pump will keep running. Though the "After doing this some times it smell gas in the garage. (no leak)" is strange. Harvey.

Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
My thought was that maybe it's a spark problem and maybe the unburnt gas is just being exhausted out and that's what's causing the smell. But that doesn't really jive with the rest of the stuff he said.

Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
some easy checks to narrow down your search. won't make the car run but will lead you in the right direction.
spark: pull a coil and stick a screw driver in the end, prop it up so it is about a 1/2 inch from the engine so you can see and hear the spark. start the car and watch/listen. does the car stop before the spark or does the spark stop and the car dies? is the spark consistent? fuel: clamp off the return fuel line with some vice grips and see if it runs longer. also jumper the pump as stated above. try unplugging one injector at a time and starting the car if one is being held open (by a short to ground from a melted wire) it will flood the car. computer control: unplug the MAF before turning on the key and start the car. repeat with other sensors. if a sensor is shorted it can cause it to pull down the reference voltage and make the car stall. simple stuff: check all of your fuses. make sure you have power at your coils and injectors when the car dies. you may have the start circuit intact but burned up part of the run circuit.

Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
Hello.
Now i have try to jump the fuel pump. And the fuel pump is running the hole time. and i have try to take of the maff. And then the car is not starting. All the spark plugs also work. I have a exhaus leak under the car. Waiting for the gasked. But it can maybe bee some noise form the intakemanifold(under) Little hard to hear. And the fuelpressur regulator also work. hmm

Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
An 02 sensor issue may be to blame. Try unplugging them and starting the car.

Re: Trouble whit start. 5mt.
Sorry to interrupt but you did the 5MT swap this winter, right? The car was starting before the swap but not after?
I have no clue when it comes to cars but troubleshooting I know
