Hey I'm Dane,
I've lurked for a couple years, drooled over the prospect of owning an SVX someday, and that someday was today! it's officially my first car, (in my name) up until now i've been driving a family rig that that my parents didn't need, (it was a third) but now it's SVX time! It's got 52.4k on the odo. and I plan to do all the best preventative maintenence i can to avoid big problems for a good while, and when the expensive times finally set in, my emotions for the car will outweigh my wallet rationale! I think i'll fit right in! especially with my '94 LSi Laguna needless to say, you guys are awesome and a huge help!

yeah i was shocked too haha,
and the guy didn't even try to jack up the price when i started to swoon over it (it's hard not too!) he would just keep saying "so you know alot about these cars? oh really? neat! oh really? interesting." lol I basically gave him a whole SVX history lesson and he just admired what I had to say. his wife doesn't drive and yet they own 4 cars so he decided it was time to let go of one, he loved the car but figured his trucks were more useful...i'm glad he thought that. hahaha $6200 and it was mine I've seen examples with similar mileage and condition but they were going for waayyyy more, no way i was having that, the ones i saw for the big money weren't even blue, so i wasn't having any of that either, haha.with a craigslist search, i found 2 blue LSi's in my immediate area, the first one i tried had 124k and when i took it to my mechanic it leaked like the titanic, the other one had 130k, i took it for a test drive and it was in such sad shape (the bearings were moaning like a cheap porno, the window switch had to be operated with a screwdriver, and the sunroof wind deflector melted in HALF on a hot day!!! ) but the girl who owned it was so incredibly nice, she acknowledged the problems that hers had and told me one of her neighbors had an identical one in awesome condition with low miles, but he didn't have it up for sale yet cuz he wanted to allow her to sell hers first, so she showed me the way to his house, he opened his garage, and i fell in love! now it's my baby

Congratulations on your find, Dane. That is a great story! I also have a 94 Laguna, which I found last year on Craig's List. You're so lucky to have had 3 in your area! Last year, I was screening the Internet for Lagunas all over the country, and had to drive to a neighboring state for mine. Mine had over 100k more miles than yours, but is in great shape considering, and I got it for an amazingly low price. Yours has to be in even better shape, though!

new member and svx owner checking in
hey guys! i've been on the svxwn for a couple of weeks but I didn't notice this yet.
I first discovered the svx when I was riding to work in my friend's 02 impreza wagon. I saw an odd looking car with weirdly split windows and asked if he knew what it was. he said yes, he knew, it's a subaru svx, a rare exotic sportscar that I should buy. a few days later I checked craigslist and found my 92 svx lsl in claret with 142k miles - only 2.5k. I suspect that the car I bought is the same one I saw previously on the road. so far she runs well, with a few bugs that we're working out as we go. i'm curious, who's the youngest svx owner here? I bought mine when I was still 18, though now I am 19.

I think it is unfair to count SVXi which were bought FOR someone. Let's just count people who bought their own SVXi. After all, my neice has been promised her dad's Corvette when she's old enough to drive. Does that mean she was a Corvette owner at age 4?!!!!!
