Reversed Wheels
I was wondering if anyone here has had good or bad experience with their wheels being reversed. The reason I ask is that since I acquired my SVX (3 years in the family now) all 4 wheels are reversed in their rotation. You can look and laugh in my member gallery. There seems to be NO braking issues (NO apparent temperature buildup due to lack of proper ventilation). I have had the tires replaced in sets of two, so there has been no opportunity to have them all switched. Anyone think it could cause some issue down the road?? I have never driven another SVX, so the braking could be sub-par at high speeds, but like I said, it brakes in a sufficient manner. I'm not sure I like the look either way better either, anyone with a bad experience with reversed rotation??

I don't know why they even say that. I they are only effective in a lab where the car is stationary. It would be a good experiment to get the wheels rolling and then see if there is air blowing out from the wheels.
Sorry, your rotors are just going to warp anyway!

I think you'll have more of an issue replacing two tires at once...
As far as the myths about the wheels directions, I think it is just the way it was designed. No real reason for it. Some pictures of the prototypes even show them going the opposite way.

Only "looks right" one way, IMO.

Backwards wheels = DEATH!!!
Actually, I highly doubt it has any effect on the structure of the wheel.

I can't even remember anymore, I think I might have just Google'd SVX pictures and found it.

Looks like it faired pretty well for completely crumpling the front end, the rest of the car is like, not all buckled up and shizz...

That's mid-crash, but the upper door glass is still unbroken, meaning there's almost zero deformation of the main cabin structure. Pretty good I say.

That's from the Road & Track guide. IIRC at the time all they had on hand were right side wheels.

Ok, I guess I'll just let them go then. As far as having more issues replacing only two tires at a time, mines FWD, so....... not a problem at all. I just put the front onto the back when they're getting a little worn, then put new ones on the front. Works great for me!
