Slow!
i don't know what the deal is, but for some reason i clocked a 10 sec. 0-60 today! WTF! i know it's quicker than that. i was using my cd player as my timer and using the half throttle launch with gradually pressing the pedal down with the rpm's. it feels much faster that way and really goes good(ask capuano) but not according to my cd players clock. i'll try more tommorrow with different launch techniques and no wife.

Yeah, that's a little slow....around 7-8 seconds would be more realistic.

no, not unless she weighs around 400 lbs
couple of things to check: 1. tire pressure 2. are you actually operating the transmission in "Power" mode ("Power" will light up on the dash when you hit the gas hard) 3. is the engine actually going all the way to red line between shifts? (if not, you may have a TPS adjustment issue or a brake band adjustment need) -Bill

Buy one of these...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/26-95...QQcmdZViewItem
Leave your car in first, power brake to 2000 rpm, let off the brake as you floor it. If you do this on a flat level road, just after you hit 60, you can pull over and safely read the results. It's not totally accurate, but it's close. And it can help you to learn how to launch.

There are a couple of guys selling them for the same price, and a barely used one for like $7.00, last I checked. The newer model ones are more informative, but ALOT more money. The big thing is that these are safer than a stop watch, and lighter than a passenger holding one.

Whenever even one person gets in my car it bogs down and seems like 500lbs have been added. I don't bother pushing the throttle down much anymore.

yep, same thing with mine. it hates weight and just won't put on a show for a passenger. |

Do you have the original knock sensors? You might want to see about getting a Subaru mechanic with a SSM to drive it around and see what's going on with your ignition advance. The other thing to check is the small check valve that is installed between two pieces of tubing coming out of the large black box mounted under the intake manifold. It's just behind the power steering pump and (obviously) under the intake manifold. This valve has been known to crack with age and will result in a non functioning IRIS valve.

i'm not sure if the knock sensors are original or not. i've had the car for 10 months now and i haven't replaced them. the iris valve is working cause i can feel it kick in around 4500 rpm or so. i'm gonna buy a g-tech in a couple weeks and see what i'm working with here. |

You can check out the IRIS check valve, and hard brittle hoses, behind the alternator, by reaching in and twisting/pulling them, and you should checkout the fuel pressure line as well.

well, like i said the iris is working so i doubt i want to grab hard brittle lines and twist and pull them when theres nothing wrong with them. i'll have to check on that fuel pressure regulator though. |
