The difference between the eg33 and the ej25 is that the 3.3L has more low rpm torque which means it will get the svx moving a little easier than a 2.5L will. Useable torque/horsepower is key. You could have a tiny engine with 100hp and rev it way up to 9k rpm for a high horsepower rating, but try driving it day to day and you will hate life and it will feel slow unless you are beating the bejeezuz out of it. But - with your turbo tuning I believe the 2.5 will run circles around a stock svx motor once you get it revved up. It will be a fun car to drive. You are right - the weight is not that much different from an STI, people just have it in their heads that the svx is a pig and a flat 6 is the only thing that can make it move. If you can pull off a 2.5 turbo swap for alot cheaper than an ecutune stage 3 then you are doing well. Good luck with the project. I am glad someone is finally being the "Huck" and doing this swap. Can't wait to see it finished.

The curb weight of a 92 svx is 3535, the curb weight of a 06 sti is 3355, as per cars101.com.

even still unless you can get that turbo spooling at 2k RPM you are find it dogging. Not saying that it won't be a beast but you will not find 60' times under 2.0s without a tranny busting 5k drop. Hey, it is a really cool idea and if I found the deal on parts you guys did I would have opted for a 2.5turbo instead of the stage3. I just got tired of trial and error so I went with a sure thing. good luck and please if you get stuck, just ask and we will help all we can

1/4 times might be kinda iffy but I bet this thing will tear up an auto-x.

The front and rear subframes are off the car, we cannot use the 06 wrx rear subframe because it is way too hard to fit it in there, but the rear diff will bolt up to the old subframe, the hubs should bolt up per my measurements, and the rear lateral links are exactly the same length, so we might end up keeping the rear lateral links
