Are you blowing blue smoke?? I took my motor apart last night to find significant amounts of oil in my TB adaptor...

I prefer venting when breaking in, or if I am expecting a blowby issue (stock motor). I think once you are done breaking in and dynoing, a catch can will help keep your engine bay clean. Also I'm not into the smell that much. Its really up to you though. I vented my WRX engine for almost 70k then switched to a catch can.

well... motor is basically done... I took off all of the stage 3 components and cleaned them up while also refinishing the engine... Teaser, no pics till she is running. I changed the oil in the blower as well... I am waiting on cams... Then it is off to final assembly and installation next weekend. I doubt I will find time this week

Power

Looks like your torque peak is comming a bit earlier and your HP peak a bit later. That's real good. I doubt there is any need to go much above 6300 rpms with this setup, so I probably won't need to reprogram my TCU. Wouldn't gain anything. It'll be nice to see again when everything is setup properly with the bigger pully and a tight belt. What gear were you in when you did your pulls? I did mine in 3rd gear in my WRX.

it would be better if he did his pulls in 2nd with the manual button so that they start at 2500ish rpms for the next set.

I think you are missreading his torque. He has 7 lbs of boost at 1st which drops to 5.5lbs as his rpms go up...that is why his torque is higher earlier than later in his current plots. From his plots it's obvious the engine isn't dropping torque until up somewhere around 5700 rpms.

boost is still dropping off now with the 12 lb pulley. When you go WOT the boost goes to 12psi and then from 3000 to redline it slowly falls to 9.5psi. I think the slip is on the blower not the crank though. I need to fix my power steering and then fool around with the belts to get them to hold well enough to keep the boost from dropping off.

Supercharger rookie question here: Is there any way to run a toothed belt (like our timing belt) for the S/C pulley? That would eliminate any belt slipage. The pulleys (crank especially) would be a b!tch to machine though.

we could run a cog belt and never worry about belt slip. BUT like you said, machining them would be a nightmare... thats more or less a small/big block thing to do

Any word on a tracking # for those cams??
