Got the replacement emblem in today. I was honestly shocked it isn't real yet I'm unsure if our US ones are to begin with but I want to say they definitely felt like metal. Confirmation anyone? And.. it still looks nice:

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I drove my new Legacy in the snow yesterday. Granted, the snow wasn't laying, but it's the first time I've driven that car in the snow. I was impressed with the fogs (although, I still think I'm partial to the SVX's fogs).

It'll be interesting to see the difference between the Auto from the SVX and a 5MT in the snow. I've never driven a 5MT in the snow, so I'm interested in seeing how the transmission behaves.

Picked up a pair of oxygen sensors from Amazon for $38 a piece, being NGK/NTK they appear to be rather decent and direct connector fit! Time to get rid of that obnoxious CEL!

What do you mean "isn't real?" Are you referring to the material it's made of... metal? The Alcyone badge is definitely plastic. I've ordered a few from Japan. Yours looks authentic.

I'm not sure what the US badge is made of... my car's badge was missing when I bought it.

Yea, I was not aware the hood emblems were plastic which is what I mean by not real. It is an authentic piece it just sort of took me by surprise I guess. For $100 and going by the pictures I've seen I would have totally expected a metal "heavy" emblem.

On the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0, the hood emblem is a decal for lighter weight.

Good choice

NGK 24614 OE Oxygen Sensors $38.11 . No sales tax and free 2-day shipping for Amazon PRIME Members

I have used these consistently without any failures for years. Before these, my 96 Polo would eat the Bosch, Walker. and Densos on a regular basis, usually within a year.

The link to this NGK sensor can be found HERE

My 92 teal is now road legal........it only took 5yrs
Now to insure it, which will be pretty cheap seeing how I'm over 50.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I'm (now) 25, and only have liability. I have priced out insurance replacing the SVX with many, many other vehicles, and have yet to find ANYTHING cheaper to insure. Including Volvo's, even the non turbo versions, it still ends up slightly more expensive. Even if only a dollar or two more per month.

PS, I will willingly take suggestions to try out.
