Big Trans Problem
Okay, as some of you know, I pulled my transmission to replace the brake band, and pinion gear. I got everything back together filled the fluids, started it, ran it through the gears(while parked), checked the fluid levels and no problems. As soon as i go to take it for a test drive, ATF starts pouring out of the bottom of the car. I jacked it up and it looks like it's coming from the torque converter. I have no idea what's happening, would it do this if it has too much fluid? What would cause this?

+1 for that front seal. I had to do one after about 40 miles once. Since then I ALWAYS replace that seal.

Amazon Parrot had the same problem a few years ago.
It turned out that the torque converter had been improperly installed. It had not been fully seated and the splines were damaged. It would work perfectly on the lift, but puke trans oil on the ground.

I'm guessing it's the seal too, because only about 5 quarts drained back out into the drain pan. I'm sure the torque converter was seated correctly, the car moved until I saw mass amounts of fluid spilling. The seal in question would be #15 correct?

The one that I'm thinking is #9, but while you're in that far it wouldn't hurt to do 15 also.

yea, both couldn't hurt. What really sucks is I got everything back in to have this happen. If my local dealership has both, I'm going to have it done by sunday. Just a side note, I left the rear pipe on the exhaust disconnected and it sounds godly.

I went down to parts plus and bought the seal for 10 bucks. I'm going to go tear my baby down again.
