As for the code above: I knew it was the knock sensor, but it it only came on when I was very low on gas and it was quite cool out once. I've reset the CEL, and it hasn't acted up, knocked, or come back on since. I'll have to see how long I can go before paying to get them changed (my hands are way too big, and I don't have the flex 12mm around).

Make a plan to replace both sensors, you will get another code. Problem is, gas mileage and performance drop drastically when the sensors code. Just changed both on one of my cars. The outer plastic had cracked due to age and heat. Plan to change 'em, you will be glad you did

AOL!

Jellyroll checking in from Lancashire in England, with a BiGas LPG-converted 1992(3?) 150,000-odd miles Claret model, UK spec, first sold by K T Green in Leeds. I sent the details through to ensteele a couple of weeks ago.

It's my daily driver, about 15,000 miles per year, and was already converted to run on Autogas when I bought it in December 2006.

Re: Every member please check in here!

Ditto, took a while but I'm here Just bought a '92 with fsh, but 100k miles, silver, and in near mint condition. According to market prices, I paid WAY too much for (£2.5k) but I have never driven anything that's such amazing value! Why aren't these cars £10k? I am a total idiot, I have 7 cars (mostly old like a Citroen DS23 and some new like an '04 Cayenne S) but the SVX is the one I drive out of choice.

So far, I have had to replace a coil pack and need to get the leak between the p/s reservoir and the pump replaced when they do the cam belts, but oh my, this is a true Grand Tourer. Was clearly never meant to be a 911 but at the same time, it makes an XJS of that period seem like a barge. Next year I am going to search for the latest, lowest mileage car I can find as a 2nd one.

Re: Every member please check in here!

After only lurking and reading figured it was time to check in
Names Brian and I have a 92 with almost 90k on it rebuilt and upgraded trans (after it blew up on the wife but still got her there) ecutune tcm, just had to replace maf, fixed tps, done all other maintenance (t-belt, tune, all fluids), ridin on 18"s in the summer and 16" studded snows in the winter. I am a mechanic by trade so feel free to pm me with any car questions but everyone here seems to have pretty good mechanical knowledge. Also that was my dark colored svx on florida and holly in the morning this fall in svx sightings. Just took it to work that day.

Welcome aboard Roger! As you can see, most of us agree whole-heartedly with your assessment of the SVX! Witness all the multiple and repeat owners. Best of luck with your search for another.

Re: Every member please check in here!

Its been a while, but I haven't forgotten about SVXs or this site.

My first car was a neglected Pearl '92 serviced by the least competent Subaru "technicians" around. Needless to say It was not the best car to take to college. I traded for a '92 Miata (6 years later its now at the end of its useful life). I'm doing a complete rebuild, 13B conversion, 6-speed, etc., etc.

I attended the 10th, and I'm setting the (hopefully) realistic goal of going to the 20th in another SVX...

Smile Re: New owner of 1994 SVX - needs windshield

Hello friends!
I am a new owner of Subaru SVX 1994 with 102.000 miles.
I had it from the original owner that moved from the US to Europe.
The car is well kept and I love-it.
Off the back, I nad to replace the clutch ($3500).
Now I'm desperately looking too find a new windshield, that is cracked.
I need it within a month, so I can pass the inspection in order to register the car. If anybody can halp with any hints, please email me at neilianus (at) aol (dot) com.
Thank you so much and Very Happy New Year to all.
Neil Ianus - Delaware, US
