Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Oil change, ATF drain and fill and filter change, wash, clay bar, polish, and wax.

I'm tired.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Trailered the '92 home, parked her at the end of the driveway, and threw a car cover on til I figure out what to do next...

Thought about putting the snow tires on the '97 but the forecast for this week is good so maybe next weekend...

Replaced front brake pads and rotors, and replaced drivers side lock & latch with one from a legacy. Now I can open my door but the auto seatbelt thinks the door is open.

Also replaced the cushions/leather covers on the drivers seat from a spare pass seat I had. This is something I havent tried yet, but I've done many seat swaps in my other Subaru's. Removing rusty hogrings and dealing with rotten material was not that big a deal, but moving that drivers seat around and installing it just about threw my back out. That sucker must weigh 80lbs.

Of course I forgot to take after pic
I'll soon be installing these...

i know what you mean about those seats! I took mine out to clean the carpet, the hardest part with it was taking the actual seat out.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

installed a cheap dvd/navigation unit. last one (pricey) went out so i decided to try a cheap one to see how they compare. so far no problems and navigation works well for a unit that costs less than most double din dvd players without it.

^ I would like to see those as well.

Did you ever get around to relocating the battery to the trunk?

What did you get? Last month I got the Pyle for $300. Liked it enough to get another for the Baja.

it's a jensen (made by audiovox). a brand that i normally wouldn't have bought but for the price of $430 with navigation was less than most double dins without it. checked out all of the reviews and the only consistent problem was the clock doesn't keep time well. not a problem with the svx. last one was a top of the line jvc (basically a pioneer) and this one seems slightly cheaper in appearance but other than that works the same.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Not really what I have done to it but I spotted my old SVX that I sold over a month ago and was able to drive up beside it and wave to the guy I sold it to. I was driving my SVX at the time so he did a double take when I honked, once at the car and then again when he recognized me. He e-mailed me a few weeks after he bought it and said he had fallen in love with the car.

I told him he should join the network but don't think he has registered yet.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Oh, I guess I did do something to it today. I painted my wheel centre caps to match the gunmetal SVX rims I have for my winter tires. I should be installing them in the next day or so. I also have some nice silver STI BBS rims waiting for me that I am going to use for my summer rims.
