Bart, why don't you explain to Anna that this is only the first of a long line of 30th birthdays?
Heck I'm celebrating my 21st anniversary of my 30th.

As for the rental car, be sure to clean the NUMBERS off the windshield before you turn it back in!
PLease be advised that the rentals have a 'black box' that they download before you leave. IF there is any, shall we say, EXCESSIVE spikes on it, they will charge your credit card to death!
They started putting the boxes on them about 7 years ago.
Really? They do have a blackbox? But on the contract, does it say that?

Sometimes I rent a car or a van for gp trip with my friends. The last rental car I got from insurance was with me for 3 wks. I did some donuts/drifts and blew the tire belts before took it back. Luckily was fine and didn't hear anything from them.

Date: You can come either Saturday July 28th or Sunday July 29th. Tom and I agreed the actual cookout at his house will be Sunday. There is also a cookout on Saturday but at someone elses house if any one wants to go. Ask Jerry or Tom about that one.

Where: At the Cumberland Airport for the Auto X and then at Tom's house (Sunday) afterwards.

Time: If you plan to race in the Auto X you need to be there by 8:00am. The cookout will be later that day. I still need to organize a time for Sundays cookout.

What time do you think the cookout should be at your house Tom? Afterall it IS your house.

I've heard horror stories A guy got hit with $500. on his card over speeding. I don't know which rental co's do that, but OUR fleet of vans have them.. If an accident is in question, they download the info.Tells if the seatbelt was on, how fast, etc..

I was just on the phone with Jerry, and He and I think the racing will be done by 4:00-4:30 on Sunday, so, someone should have the grill/grills hot by then.
If Jerry races on Saturday, He might be our chef on Sunday.
I actually like to cook, and Di is actually good at it.
But ALL of us can cook/grill.
The Saturday run might run a little later than 4:30, (but not a lot) and these things seem to work themselves out.
Food, Friends, country air, it sound nice.
Tom.

The Saturday night cookout is at Dr Mike's Corvette Museum! It's usually free, unless he does something 'exotic' for dinner.
It's a good time. I've been there lots of times. It's about 10 miles from Tom's place. We can car pool if we need to.
The MOST he's ever asked for is $10.00 per head, but he had crabs that time. If you like Vettes' the cover is just about worth it without the food and beer!

He has an 84 with 6, ( SIX) miles on it! (and a LOT of old ones that have more.)

Haven't heard about the blackbox yet - first from you. Thanks for the reminding though. I rented cars/vans from alvis/hertz/enterprise, luckily haven't got any problems yet. Most of the times got speeding...but not crazily all the times. One time a friend of mine was emergency not feeling did about 100mph consistenly 3rhs in a minivan to WV from buffalo, NY. Always returned the cars/vans in good body conditions.

Are they supposed to say that in the contract or let us know if there's blackbox in there?

I'm not sure if the contract says anything or not.
Actually, The cops have the capibility to download off of most late mod cars. The computer 'stores' a lot of data. I heard about it several years ago. I am in the ('transportation' industry). You wouldn't believe what stories your car can tell on you! The tech has been there since '99', some people don't use it, but some DO! It's sort of like deleting something from your hard drive, The FBI can still get it!

I don't remember which rent-a-car company it was, but our local Hertz guy has a laptop and knows how to use it. He also has a Mustang convertable that he lets out. I guess he checks it when it comes back.
