Re: 1993 25th Anniversary Edition
I just purchased a 1993 Anniversary Edit VIN ending in #1250 from the original owner, 128,xxx miles. I will post the production date after I pick it up.
Edit: To clarify, it is in a condition which will require transmission replacement and some cosmetic attention.

Re: 1993 25th Anniversary Edition
I just bought one! The details are as follows:
VIN: JF1CX3534PH101251 03/93 is the date on the door. Is this enough information to know my # out of the 301? Paid $2300 for it, not bad I guess... |

Re: 1993 25th Anniversary Edition
Mine has 139,400 miles on it as of this morning. It runs strong, I'll go over some of thouse details at the end of this post since I have some questions.
What's funny is, that isn't damage on the side, it's lame graphics It has a small amount of damage on the very front drivers side just to the left of the hood. It's a couple small dents but nothing noticable until you get close to it. Also on the driver side door the plastic trim that runs across the middle of the door popped off on one side slightly. Again, hard to tell unless you get close. The car has almost brand new Pirelli PZero Nero on all 4 wheels, which I was excited about. Problem is, my wheels are on backwards? Please explain so I can fix this ASAP. Here are the details of the cars mechanics from what I have experienced in the last couple of days driving it: It starts strong (even this morning in below freezing weather after sitting outside over night) which is exciting, but it idles a bit rough after warming up all the way. It idles at maybe 700rpm and then drops to 550rpm and shakes a bit then picks back up. I let it sit and idle for 30 minutes and it never stalled due to this. Could this be something simple like needing a tune up or is it a sign of something more serious? I have mechanic buddies who can help me figure it out if I'm pointed in the right direction. The brake roters look ok from the outside but it feels a bit rough when I stop from high speeds. There is no grinding or adverse noise. Could they be warped? I hear that is a problem on these cars? I replaced the air filter on my car yesterday (it was overdue for a change) and ordered a K&N filter for it from Advance Auto Parts. I checked the oil and it was well within the range and still looked pretty light colored. I still might change to Royale Purple soon. On that note what fluids should I change right off the bat and what should I change to? I haven't even looked at the transmission fluid yet. It shifts strong from what I can tell. Sometimes when I am driving slow (20-30MPH) it feels like it should be shifting to a lower gear because I have very little tourqe but it doesn't shift until I step on the gas a bit more. When this happens is feels like I hit the gas too hard and it pulls forward pretty strong. Also sometimes when starting from a stop it feels like it doesn't have very much power then all of a sudden I give it some more gas and it pulls forward overly strong. Is this a transmission problem or do I just need to learn how to drive an automatic again? I am coming from a '06 GTO 6 speed by the way; it's parked until it gets warm outside again. Is an external transmission cooler a good idea? Is it worth investing that amount of work in a car with this many miles? Everything power works, and I mean everything! All 4 windows, door locks, sunroof, wipers, wiper nosels, power seat, cig lighter for my cell phone charger, all the little lights everywhere (even the light on the drivers side keyhole didn't know it had one of these when I bought it lol). Do I need to have the airbag inspected? No lights come on the dash alerting me but it is a 15+ year old car. On that note; there are no dummy lights on the dash, just the occasional "Power" light when I mash the gas. The interior is in really good condition, no rips or tears in the leather and everything is clean. The sueade on the drivers side door where you pull to close it is a bit worn, but I assume this is expected. The center console cubby hole is missing a screw and a bit loose but I'll fix this after my next trip to Hope Depot. The latch that folds the drivers side seat forward is broken and the drivers seat doesn't fold forward. The power controls work but not the manual control, go figure. This is annoying if I want to fit 4 people in my car (rare circumstance that this happens though), is this worth attempting to fix with junkyard parts or something or should I just let it go? CarFAX says that it's been in one accident about 4k miles ago. but that was in New York State (I live in Ohio) and I have no information on the accident. CarFAX says there was never a salvage title and so I assume the accident was minor? It seems like even 2 panels dented would have "totaled" the car considering it's age. Perhaps it caused the slight damage on the front of the car I talked about earlier. Is there any way to get additional details of the accident? What should I do to this car moving forward so I can create a list? Here, I'll start it: 1. Get the wheels put on correctly. 2. Get the transmission inspected and possibly flush the fluid and put on an external transmission cooler. Thanks in advance for all the help and advice. |

Re: 1993 25th Anniversary Edition
There were 93s shipped all over, but the 25 Anniversary Editions were only shipped to the US. They were all LS-L models which were Barcelona Red and Beige interior with the spoiler. They originally came with a sticker on the right rear window that showed it was the 25 Anniversary Editon.
