Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

The rubber doesn't need to come off. It needs to be held back temporarily. The sunroof also does not need to come out if you are doing the same color. $800 is way too high,on average it's a $500 job.

If you do need to remove the sunroof for some reason (such as a rust repair), it's very simple. Takes perhaps 15 mins.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

After last weeks debacle I got new pulleys from subaru. Got them all installed with new belts and the alt/ps tensioner makes noise! Ugh. Did score a new regulator, but don't want to install it until I get the window switch figured out.

Where is this paint shop? I work in Scranton and would like to know my options on paint shops. Thanks

The quote I got was for $600 and they wanted to replace the rubber around the sunroof which was another $150 .I will have to get a few other quotes. I plan to have it done early 2015.

My restoration project passed it's safely inspection.
Now to get some insurance and start driving it, then it'll be sold.

The name of the shop is Thanes on Green Ridge St. in Green Ridge right by the overpass. For the money it came out great.

The car looks GREAT, Michael.
Was it $500.00 to paint just the roof?

No new rubber? Did they lift the rubber trim?
I say it looks great no matter what you paid. If could get mine done that cheap.
I would be on it.

$400 for just the roof, no new rubber either. They pulled the rubber back and inserted a shim to keep it back.

I have been looking into the price of paint, and it looks like you got a nice roof repaint at a fair price.
Did they claybar or buff the rest of the car, because it looks great!

That was done right after I got the car a few months back. It really brought it back to life. Cars R Us in Clarks Summit did it.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got a code P0330 (knock sensor malfunction, bank 2) on my way home today. Drove across the metro to the only AutoZone that had one in stock. Replaced the driver's side knock sensor and the leaking oil pressure sensor in about an hour. Wasn't too bad a job.
