How much $ have you put into your SVX?
I thought this would be helpful for those who are new owners or those who are thinking of buying an SVX.
Up to date I have spent over 24K since 2004! It sound like alot, but it averages around $225 a month. This includes the purchase price, maintenance, repairs, replacement parts, upgrades and labor.

Re: How much $ have you put into your SVX?
I am thinking mine is like $9,000-$10,000 if I include the body work, upgrades, repairs as well as the various wheel and tire combos. I have had the car a little over 5 years. Over the past few years it has been mechanically solid not requiring repairs (other than the bodywork) Years two and three required many repairs as I addressed the leaks, failing sensors and transmission failure.

Re: How much $ have you put into your SVX?
Since buying the polo in 2002, I have a little over $22,000 invested.
This also includes the purchase price of the car, general maintenance over 14 years and 92,000 miles, and all the items listed in my signature. That's $130.00 a month. .

Re: How much $ have you put into your SVX?
Oh god you don't want to know... I have a spreadsheet around somewhere that tallies it up, but suffice to say I've probably spent more on the SVX than my Spec B cost me to buy.

Re: How much $ have you put into your SVX?
Ballpark figure is about $40K.
It would break down to around $30K for the original new car purchase and about $10K in upkeep (power steering pump, axle boots, A/C refit, transmission replacement, trans cooler & filter, sensor replacement, power window assembly, windshield, struts, tires) over 20 years. So that's about $2000/year over the life of the car, not counting routine maintenance. |
