Good luck with the PCV valve. I did mine earlier this year, and I was able to do it with regular tools. I think I used a 3/8 ratchet with a deep socket but I can't remember for sure. I don't recall it being particularly difficult, but then again I had more working room since I had some things out of the engine bay to do the valve cover gaskets.
I think if you remove the throttle body, with the IACV out of the way you can get to it with a ratchet. At least that's my guess based on looking at my engine that's on a stand. In the actual engine bay it might not be that simple.

Yeah, that's right. I think I did have the throttle body off at that point...

Washed it for the first time since it was repainted. Amazing how smooth it feels when wiping a wash cloth over a freshly painted car.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Today I installed my new OEM driver's side headlamp and combination light assemblies. Also used some sealant on the driver's side rear combination light assembly.

Last weekend, I replaced the seals of the rear combination and center light assemblies last weekend and it did not completely work on the combo assembly. I was still getting some water. Also replaced trunk and hood struts with OEM struts.

Just got my SVX a couple of months ago and trying to get it in top shape.

I think my next project will be stereo upgrades... I am low on $ tho for a little while. Hopefully by the end of the year. OEM parts expensive.

Silver SVX: Front axles, ball joints, ceramic front brake pads, machined front rotors, Bosch relay starter circuit mod (finally).

Every time I sink a little money into the thing I figure, well, now I've gotta keep driving it.

New foam gaskets in tail light bar and right side tail light. New wiper blades front and rear. Washed and vacuumed. OEM winter wheels back on.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Another 50 F sunny day.
Tackled the driver side speaker grill, which had large blotches of rust at the top and completely orange on the bottom half, probably from a drink spill which pooled in the inner rim and wicked up the inner thin cloth backing. The Passenger side grill is flawless.

I've had the door panels off several times (new speakers & regulator/stabilizer adjustments) and there is no rust whatsoever inside the door or drain holes.
You folks will know the oval grills are a 3-layer sandwich of outer pierced metal screen, a layer of thin acoustic cloth and that tabs on to the inner plastic grill, the whole sandwich is then tightly speed-washered on to plastic posts of the door card. I was loath to break those posts getting if out.
So I went with surface stippling with foam block using two colors of paint. Didn't want to just mask and spraybomb it as it would have clogged the cloth backing screen.

Matching the color was trial & error with about 5 colours easily wiped off with alcohol until I hit the match. Funny color that has a Purple tint to the Taupe. Nothing in automotive came close - too light/too dark/too red.

Wish I'd taken a before pic that showed how horrible it looked - whenever I would look down the rusty orange was taunting me in an otherwise pristine interior.

Lawn furniture colours used - dark Taupe with a light layer of 'stainless steel' stippled over. Further stippling as it dries eliminated the 'silver' caste leaving the base color matte. Undetectable in real life, it matches the passenger side and I'm well pleased. The flash makes it look 'metal-y' - must take daylight picture.

Took my Vortex XT6 for a drive for the first time in several months. Wow, what a pleasure. Amazing to drive a car that is 25 years old with cruise control & ABS brakes.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Put on my winter wheels/tires, and put some new headlights in. Did the 9005 to low-beams mod and put yellow fogs in. I also used that 3M headlight restore kit, the one that's used on a drill. I had enough to do my car and my in-law's.

You need black lug nuts to go with those wheels!

Car looks sharp, btw.

Thanks! I actually intentionally kept them chrome/rusty silver... I like it better than black on the stock wheels. I removed the center caps too. It kinda makes them look like different wheels
