Diameter and thread for child seat anchor?

So I bought a drop-forged, shouldered machinery eyebolt from Fastenall. You're not supposed to pull on these eyebolts sideways the way I will be, but I am positive it's strong enough for this application. I may turn the eyebolt to prevent it from being pulled that way.

I was thinking something like that would work, until I popped off the cap to try out my anchor. The eye may be too wide to fit in the recess?

I wonder if a call to SOA would be at all productive?
