What year and model? If you do part it out there are some things I could use.

Front passenger bumper and headlights - Easy fix
Passenger door glass only - Easy fix
Entire roof of car including sunroof - Not so easy fix
Front hood - Easy fix

How did you hurt the roof? That's the only part that I would be overly upset about, the rest are just bolt-on replacement parts.

Sorry to hear this... April seems to be taking a toll on our community

The repair bill for what you described is going to be quite big

Did you roll the car??

Sounds like he either rolled it, or got hit bit a big truck and the impact crumpled part of the roof. The important thing here is, are you ok? Hope you and any possible passengers were uninjured.

Shame to hear. Just remember, as long as you're patient you can make a lot more money by parting a car out rather than selling it as a wrecked vehicle.

Or drove under a chain that was blocking off a parking lot?

Its a black 1995.

The city blocks off street along the lakefront with 9" diameter poles that swing out horizontally and blocks cars by forming a gate or barrier approx 3' off the ground..

As I approached the pole it was not in the blocking position but was parrallel with the street. Somehow, likely due to the wind, as I was driving by it moved and I went right into it.

I still drives. I just moved it to a garage.

It all depends upon the extent of damage to the roof. If, say, the sunroof opening is distorted, that's very bad...

First convertable SVX? Just kidding...that would be hard.

That sucks though. Buy one with a perfect body and switch around parts? I hate to see SVXs get parted out, but that may be the direction .

Yeah..you're screwed if the roof can't be fixed...or if its not financially "worth" it. Will the insurance cover this damage? I would get a quote first, bhut if you do part it out I need some of your stuff!!!

They're getting more rare all the time. Save it if you can.

Rolled SVXi

We have two SVXi that were rolled (believe it or not) by the SAME GIRL!!! We would LOVE to put them back on the road, but with the roofs caved in, the repair would not be worth the cost. So, regretfully, we are using both as parts cars.

The roof was the deciding factor in both cases. Everything else could have been fixed relatively easily, although perhaps not cheaply.

This roof is definitely a goner.
