Great job! I hope my harsh comment wasn't taken personally... but it seems like you agreed with everyone and now that prototypesque wing looks great! Awesome job man. +1

Still my favorite shot of the prototype wing.

I love how the spoiler, while higher, tapers in thickness towards the top to keep the visibility.

The same with the arc where the bottom of the spoiler joins the trunk lid

I also like the third brake light tucked into the edge as well.

I love how the side marker deepens in the fender. Gives the car a super sporty look.

I have considered doing that. I have a random 3rd brake light that came with an aftermarket wing laying around somewhere, it might fit.

Re: What do you think of my new wing?

Those side skirts... mmm.

I'm not a fan of body kits for show, but a side skirt would allow an "anti stone flingy uppy thing" (like a mini mudflap) behind the front wheel. Blending into the door sill, it could look quite nice and understated.

(Anyone make side skirts something like this? I recall someone doing body kits, but anything nice and reserved?)

That rear wing does look nice, but I think it's still too slab-sided for my taste, and it does tend to add to the 'weight' of the rear end looks. I suspect it could be shaped a little more delicate, but I'm no fibreglasser.

If you only knew some of the things customers made us do to their cars...

How about a 1973 Camaro "MadMax Interceptor" (Yes, I know the movie car was a 4 door Aussie Falcon, so does he)

Just in case you're wondering, no, they do not make a hood that ugly for a Camaro. That is a combination of a stock replacement fiberglass hood, a 4" cowl, 2 Mustang Mach 1 scoops and a "baby" copy of a L-88 Corvette scoop. His ideas, not ours.

Or a 240SX with a real steel Skyline nose.

I do kinda like that one though, too bad the idiot smashed it up.

Mostly I did it because of some comments I received when asking if anyone had done shaved door handles. Some like:

When shaved handles are not anything like that, this wing would be.

Also, I did want real wing ideas, I'm thinking about copying the prototype wing, shouldn't be too hard, I should be able to base it off the stock wing too.
you no we have same mounting brackets and most 240sx/skyline bodykits will fit also the jdm salvia headlights s13 will fit

I'm not quite sure what you said, but we were brought a Skyline nose, a wrecked 240sx and were told to make it work. That is what we came up with.

Got a picture of what you're talking about?

Re: What do you think of my new wing?

I'm a former S13 owner. Pretty much everything from Silvia to 180sx swaps over from one to another, because the cars were so similiar to each other in America they were even sold under the same name.

The Skyline however, is NOT a direct bolt on to any s chasiss I am aware off. The Skyline is a good bit wider, you can bolt the fenders on but the lines do not match and the fenders hang over the ends of hte doors. Its possible the R33 front goes on the S14 a little easier than the R32 on the S13 but I doubt it, I think he did some fantastic work to make it look as stock as it does.

The lights on the prototype are actually the same ones we all have, but the car itself is wider. The fender flares are probably an inch further out than the production model ended up having. Look at the curve in the gas door.

That's why I like it. It looks like it was on steroids.

However, and this is just my opinion, the prototype wing looks a little bit too Honda NSX for me.

But if you consider the prototype without a wing, it will look ugly.

What i don't like about it are the rims, too small for an SVX on Steroids..

I didn't say no wing Danny, just not the Honda one!

It would look good I think with the likes of the old Porsche 911 Turbo tea tray wing sitting back off the surface of the boot lid. Nobody's ever done that.

I really like how this looks!
Is it all formed together with the trunk lid? or is it separately added on still?

Edit: I have another question though with the removal of the antenna will you relocate it or how do you plan to keep it still functioning???

I think it would almost be a cool idea to make a lighter version of our trunk with a prototype style wing all one piece might be a lot of work but would drop quite a few pounds I think and make it more worth an investment in my eyes.

The trunk is light already. It's composite fiberglass/plastic that's filled with hollow spots.

It is all one piece now, just like the prototype.

There will be an antenna hidden in the trunk, since it is fiberglass, the signal will pass through just fine. There is this perfect notched area in the top under one of the panels, like it was meant to be. I might lose some stations, but that is the price of looking good.

Making a mold off this thing would be very, very hard and very time consuming. Making the mold alone would be at least $2000 in labor if we were to do it, then maybe $800 per trunk just in labor. We'd also have to destroy a couple trunk lids to make the mold.

Seriously? You consider that thing light? I had the trunk of my parts car fall on me because the struts are shot (forgot my trusty vice grips), I'd rather have a metal trunk fall on me any day. For fiberglass, it is extremely heavy, they didn't do it out of fiberglass for weight savings, they did it because it would be harder and more expensive to accomplish the shape in metal.
