A lot of nice pictures, rebecca!

Harry's SVX at 27/115 and 33/115 has white smoke at the back...
was that from the tailpipe or tires?

Wow, at 110/115 the blue STI was at three wheels! How come chike's car at 111/115 couldn't do that?

Thanks for the pictures.

I could have gone much faster. In the next day of so, I'll post the MAX Q data graphs showing my best run (52.6) and my co-driver's best run (51.6 in the challenge round -- best in regular competition was a 52.1). I was hitting 50.8mph as my highest speed on course, while his highest speed was 48.2mph. He beat me b/c he was doing the 'slow' stuff better. If we theorectically combined his driving in the slow stuff, with my driving in the 'fast stuff' a theoretical best time in high 50.9 second range would have been possible.

Ken,
I wish it was from the tires!! But that is "blue" smoke from the pipes!! The 135K miles have caught up with it ...

Me neither .....

As for times: If I remember correctly (times will soon be posted officially, I think), YT had a 52 or 53 sec run, Jerry in OT's car had a 55.9 sec run, and I had a 57.9 sec run (1st in G Stock). Chike in his WRX had a 52 sec run, I think .........

Fastest time of the day was one of the modified STi's at about 47 or 48 sec - some quick cars out there!!

Sure did miss you Willie!!!!!!

Harry

Correct. From what YT told me, his best was a 53.5. My best was a 52.6, while my co-driver ran a 52.1 in regular competition (and a 51.6 in the Challenge).

Thanks, Chike. Would post where we can find the official times - or they posted them yet?

Harry

On the timing printout that Jerry saw, his best run was 54.01.
The official results will be up by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I checked out the suspention for any sign of wear and found none to explain the "studder step" of the left front wheel.

There is however some oil on the drivers lower control arm, and sprayed onto the drivers inner fender.
The inside wall of the street tire that I drove home 185 miles on is a little wet with oil, but I can find no evidence oil on the LF slick.

I have to say,
I HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!!

It was great seeing everybody!

Did Jerry use some motor oil to soften up the tires before running?

I just got home. We spent some time with daughter and family today.
I ran the 'vid' from the 'on-board' camera.
The 'shaking' was so violent that you can HEAR the shuddering on the tape.

I really wanted to save enough car for Tom to drive home.

I saw the printout, the only run that was on BOLD print was a number that I hadn't seen. I was fooling with the camera, posing for the pics that a young man was shooting at the finish line of the SVX, etc.

Time will tell.

All I know is that the times I ran in OT's car were closer than they have EVER been to the Moran Brothers missel.
That is a big improoovement.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the Pumpkin carve.....

Thanks , again, Tom.

PS The belt stayed on for the 4 passes AND the 380 mile drive!

Big improvement NUMBER (2)
