I got a maybe stupid qustion that I wounder if someone of you can answear me on: Why change to a 5 gear stick?

I understand that it is more fun to drive with a stick (here its standard with stick, so this is my seond aut on 10 cars) but I wounder if it makes the car accelerate better, go faster, smoother or what u gain on replacing the aut transmission?

By all means it will. You have control over your shifting, you can accellerate faster, get better handling, etc. with a 5speed manual trans. Plus i believe they're lighter, a plus, and they last longer. How many auto trans you hear about dying, vs how many manual trans you hear about dying?

I don't get how the auto trans can be at 2000rpm in gear at say 50mph, and you hit the gas and it go to 2500rpm, remain at 50mph. There has to be loss there, shouldn't rpm be directly proportional to speed and gear? My first auto ever, sorry.

I've driven both, and it makes the SVX a completely different car. It all depends on what kind of car you want your SVX to be.

Auto - My daily driver, still has the stock 3.545 transmission. I love the smoothness and the way that I can just keep pushing harder on the gas and without a thought be pushing 100 mph (on a closed course )
The automatic makes the SVX what it was designed for, a Luxury GT car.

5/6 speed - The Racer, was recently converted to a 4.11 5-Speed out of a Legacy. Since a manual is slightly more efficient in transferring power this gets the most power to the wheels. It also gives a higher degree of control which will be important this season when we start running hill climbs. A properly tuned SVX with a 5 speed is converted into a sports car.

Those are my thoughts on it anyway

Ok, I think I have gotten the answear that I wanted, Thanks.

I will test the SVX this summer plus winter probebly, and then decide if its too boring in snow. (its a wintercar in first, becaus I drive the bike for the summer) But if I decide to change to a manual, as I understand it it's not too hard, I'm not a gearhead but I have spendt a littel too many hours in the garage for the last 2-3 years (cheap cars that I drive too hard, and no interest in leaving them to someone else).

But how many hours working time (not waiting for parts or such) am I looking at? 20-30?
If I stay with automatic is it still a good idea to change the chip? I will probelby just put in a open air filter and bigger exoustsystem (spelling is hard ).

Those with experience say it takes about 40hr to swap out the auto and in iwth the manual. Change the chip? you mean get a tuned ecu? There's quite a few people that have done that, personal preference i guess. My car is stock at the moment, but i'm getting new exhaust soon because it's rotting out. I plan to go with a 5mt swap end of summer/beginning of fall though, because it's more "fun" for me. Once that's out of the way i'll be going with a full slew of enhancements to ensure logevity of the car, and increase fun. For now though, the car is fun in auto, and i can wait until that dies downa bit to go with the 5mt. If your looking for exhaust there's a bunch to chose from, all custom made by people here.

Ok, maybe I can do it on 50-60 hours then, its not impossible that I will.
Yepp, ecu must be what I mean. (english I handle ruffly, tech english is harder )
I will probebly custom make one, but its not bad to sneak some ideas

IF you have everything ready that you'll need, a swap can be done in a weekend.

You need pre made:
Manual Crossmember
Modified shifter
Modified pedal box
extended driveshaft
plus the tranny stuff...
