Am returning there in March to visit my daughter and pick up my SVX and drive it back out here. My daily driver is a BMW 323i convertible.

But with the snow, mud and all, I'm looking to buy a vintage Toyota Land Cruiser or FJ model -- you know, the Toyotas that were made to look like Jeeps. Do you know anybody who has one for sale?

Hello Richard,
I was actually responding to "riceluvr" as he is also in Kentucky (as I am) but I understand about not having many other SVXers around close.
I'll keep an eye out for one of th eLand Cruisers...but figure you wouldn't want to come all the way here to pick one up...
Take care,

Huck:

Oh, and I thought your message was addressed to me because I received an e-mail saying that I had received a message on the SVX site. Sorry.

Yes, Kentucky is a long, long way away from New Mexico and I wouldn't drive all the way there looking for a Land Cruiser. Thanks anyway, though.

Richard

I'm Joe, from Washington state. I'm an electrician working on a hydroelectric dam on the Columbia river. I bought my 92 claret just after I finished high school in 2000. I've gone through a few replacements (water pump, oem radiator, drive line, transmission, etc, but no upgrades except an aftermarket alarm. I have visited this site a few times since I bought the car but am now ready to begin upgrading the car, so I figured it was time to join you guys.

Heya, new SVX owner here! From Ithaca, NY. Traded in my '90 Legacy L for it... probably the best trade I've done. I've got a ton of work ahead of me on this car before it'll be driveable again... but I'm real happy to be part of this community.

Aw, maaaan...

Did a thorough walk-around today. It's a lot worse off than I anticipated. The antenna wasn't even connected (just kinda sitting in the hole), the front-left fender is not only damaged but rusting through quickly, the right-front fender is following in its footsteps, the rear driver's wheel well has just begun rusting as well, there are dings and dents all over the body, and the passenger's door looks like it's been opened into a cement post. Which I'm guessing isn't too far off the mark. There also appears to be flora under the wheel well cover on the rear driver's side.

I'm still waiting on finding wheels and tires for it, so I haven't done a proper test-drive. I'm worried that the mechanicals are as bad as the body and interior are...

Not what I expected when I heard there was a 79k mile SVX for sale... ah well, she'll be my own personal money pit I guess.

Hi,

I am new to the forum. I did jump the gun and post on a few threads before checking in. I am not new to forums, but I am new to this one. I have many strange cars and I am adding the SVX to the stable sometime soon. It has 73K on the body and less on the engine. I has a few problems that I will be posting and finding parts for. If anyone could walk me through how to fix the sun roof that would be great. It doesn't work. The motors runs, but the roof does not move.

Thanks,
Alex

That is a nice collection of cars you have. Post a pic of the entire stable.

Smile New owner in Seattle

Just joined the group. Sure I will be hearing from some in the Seattle (Renton) area. Would like to meet and discuss SVX's. My new baby is a 94 LSI with 103k. The color seems different from those I have seen on the net. Mine is black with a silver bottom. It seems to go good together. All it really needs is tires. Will have to check into the different types to purchase. I do need a antenna. Mine is damaged. So if anyone has one let me know. Also found out you have to watch pulling into spaces. This thing sits really low. It seems that it being so heavy it takes sometime to get the thing moving. Nice ride though. Ted

94 visors

Say just wanted to ask you guys about the sun visors. Both of mine are lose and are held up by a small bunji. I pulled it off the arm and it is only 2 inches long. How are these suppose to hold the visors in position. Must be broke or loose inside??? Anybody had this same problem. ??? Ted

Yes Ted, it is a problem with the visors. You can work on them and there is a fix in the How-To Documents. It may work, but may not.

Be sure to register on NWSVX which is the local group. If you register, you will be emailed on the current events and meets which will allow you to meet local members and see their cars. It is a very active group and we have many meets already scheduled in the future. Check it out and ask for help if you need it.

Look around in the How-To Documents for lots of interesting information. Hope to meet you soon.
