Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

you do not need to connect it back in the car to eject the cd.

You can use any 12v DC power source, such as a battery charger, or just pop the hood and connect the red power and yellow power wires to the battery and the black to the ground that will give the unit power and you hit eject and out the disc will be.

I was wondering if I could do that. I wasn't sure or not if it was safe for the radio. Thanks

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Just finished doing a VF52 turbo upgrade on a friends WRX.

Also installed his EBCS. Going to be installing his DW255 fuel pump in a minute.

right now I'm tuning it so that he has 2-step.

It's 3am here, and I have class at 9...F*u*c*k.

Please be careful doing the fuel pump.
I hope that you disconnect the battery FIRST!

Having had a gas tank explosion back when I was twelve, I might be a little biased!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

This weekend I drove the Laguna over to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had a blast getting there and back... it was a pleasure not having to worry about the car over heating and even though the stupid buzzing/short syndrome has found its way to plague this SVX as well, it didn't act up this weekend and the windows actually worked so I was able to enjoy the windows down and the awesome weather both ways! You wouldn't be able to tell very well from the photo but you can't see the crunkled hood on the other side and pushed back headlights from the recent accident which I've yet to get resolved. Roughly 600 miles round-trip and this was on the way there at the WI/IL border rest stop sometime Friday evening:

Extremely pleased with the MPG as well.... I would say it averaged roughly in the 29mpg range getting 250+ for half a tank... guess I finally get the 500 miles a day saying (even if it requires FWD SVX to obtain ) :

With that said, I can't wait to get rid of that ****ty ****ty tint!

I put the same kind of tint on that same window many years ago. I got a ticket and had to take it off. Glad I did.

Pro-tip: don't use any petroleum based liquids to remove the goo, just soap and water and a rag..

Today I change my trunk struts and put on my cool new oil cap. In a couple weeks here I should be ready to change out my steering rack and control arm.

I gave my wiper arms a fresh coat of semi-gloss black.

summer wheels/tires. we usually get a lot of snow in march but riding around on studs when it's almost eighty isn't good.

This weekend I put my engine all back together and ran my power steering lines and cooler. The SVX is almost back on the road!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I came home tonight to find my used 97 grille had arrived. I was pleasantly surprised that it was painted black (it had come off a green SVX). I tried a test fit and thought it looked pretty good. I'll probably drive around like this for week or two before I mask it off for a coat of Liquid Silver.
