Instead of epoxy i used hot glue, the brass insert is basically the largest size and only comes in one per pack. And hot glue to put the visor back together looks better then sewing it, as the fabric is extremely thick and hard to get a needle through. If you have any questions just ask me.

Hi Tom,
I never liked the way the 444 shifted from 1st to 2nd. Although I liked the lively response, the smooth operation under light throttle of the stock SVX was missing from the 444 conversion. I tried LAN's ROM for 444, and the abrupt, hard shift into 2nd was worse, although 2-3 and 3-4 were firmer. Phil burned a ROM for me that scales the entire range to replicate the stock shift characteristics, except the mushiness. It works very well, my 92 444 shifts 1-2 like the stock transmission now, without the lurch. The stock 444 was only annoying under light throttle. I had replaced the TPS, and tried changing idle voltage from .45 through .55 to try to lessen the effect to no avail.
Power mode is still available. I have LAN's ROM in our Silver 92 with stock transmission, it works well there, although there is no engine braking in lower gears, and power mode cannot be used. In that car, it firmed the shifts enough that I no longer use the small car kit.

This technical term that you used, (Mr. Engineer),
What does it mean?

The previous owner had installed separate throttle pedals for light speed and ludicrous speed. The ...
Seriously, I drive in New haven CT traffic every day. It is all stop and go. The 444 seems to delay the shift into 2nd then shift abruptly. Our mint 1997 Outback has the same transmission and does same thing.
The stock SVX is extremely smooth under the same conditions, but feels like a heavier car than the 444 equipped 92. Right now, the 444 with the scaled ROM is a pleasure to drive in stop and go traffic, as well as on the open road (only available at certain times of the day in congested CT)

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I seen that new fuel oil stuff. Was thinking on giving it a try. I use the Mobil 1 15,000 miles guaranteed so I changed the filter every 5k with a new filter/ 1qt. of new oil and at 15k replace oil/filter. Oil is always clean to and haven't had any problems.
