I don't believe it, give it a go Tom, you can do it. What is it, that you notice the most difference in? Harvey.

The results for my car thus far are limited to what I felt, it was raining like hell and I didn't take my eyes off the road for very long. Acceleration is smooth for the first time, granted it is still on the rich side for an AFR. Timing is actually pretty high under full load. 23-29*btdc at 9psi from 4500-7000 rpm yet didn't get a single hint of knock (audible or from the sensors). The car pulls like a freight train, and there is more to get out of it still. Timing doesn't magically drop off, and the fuel that I have always wanted is now there. Now this is a personal conjecture but I feel the fuel was my main problem with the ECUtune Roms. It never seemed to have enough on tip-in and thus tossed the whole rev range out. I paid specific attention to tip-in enrichment and have it set to what I believe is a perfect level. Thus paving the way for a smooth torque curve and constant acceleration. So in short, I couldn't be happier with the investment of $ and time. Totally worth it. Now I need to book some dyno time to see what kind of power it will actually make dialed in properly. Tom |

Re: EM Solution
I would like to see this blower put out it's full potential. I know it is in there some where.
Harvey.

Re: EM Solution
Why do I feel, if you would have only added a RRFPR you would have had the same result as I did :/

That all goes without saying, that the SVX community NEEDS a real EM solution if anyone was seriously building an engine to make more power. The Nemesis just makes it that much easier for anyone else Tomm |

Re: EM Solution
WOOOOOOOOOT!!!
Probably the biggest advent in the modified SVX world since the first manual swap! I do have a question though: Is it possible for the Nemesis to store 2 different tunes? For example: 4 months of the year I'm in a larger city with easy access to 94 Octane fuel. The other 8 months I'm in a much smaller city for school, with only 91 octane. Or, say I want to drive to another city for a track event and have the car tuned for the track, but may not be able to get higher octane gas at the stations in between. So basically I'm saying can it be quickly switched from a 94+ high power tune to a more conservative 91 tune? I would suspect that it would be as easy as saving both setups on a laptop, plugging in, and resetting to whichever you want, but just looking for confirmation.

Re: EM Solution
Turns out I am in luck! Atco dragway is still open till the end of this weekend. I plan to go on Sunday to try and get a few test&tune runs in to see what the Nemesis can really do for me.

Re: EM Solution
This lends credence to Jack's findings with his EG33. The engine's combustion chambers are remarkably tolerant of timing advance!

Re: EM Solution
well after some heavier road tests today I was able to put it under heavy load for a longer period of time. Seems to get some slight audible at the upper RPMS so I trimmed timing a little and it has vanished. Also nothing more comming up from the knock sensors. Will know more with a couple runs down the track

Re: EM Solution
Very cool Tom!
A good friend who had very modified WRX dropped the MAF when he went to an AEM system. He and the shop owner felt the MAF was a HUGE restriction and eliminating it was a major performance boost on his car. Todd

Re: EM Solution
So can I have an "almost all the time" mode and a "pass my NJ emissions test" mode?

For a forced induction engine, you really need to know what kind of air you have waiting right behind the valves and its relative temperature to get a better tune on it. Especially the stage 3 w/ its bypass valve after the MAF. There really was no way to get a good reading of how many molecules of air to expect and thus the the AFR was tossed lean. This could have easily been remedied by adding the extra fuel I had always asked for in software revisions... But still wouldn't have fixed the overall problem. Tom |

BTW Tom: I wanted to come out and maybe race you in good fun. Just before going to the garage and changing my tires out, I checked out the Atco Raceway site. They are still going to do the Ford vs Buick runs tomorrow. That sucks! Today would have been a perfect day to run.
