Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Fixed my winter wiper switch, found it was only unplugged. Put on my spare grille which I had painted black -just wanted a change.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Drove my SVK skimobile up to Whistler for a day of skiing, and back home .. along the famous Sea-to-Sky Highway from vancouver to Whistler.

Lots of fun curves when the traffic is light. My brother, who was with me and who's more straight-laced than me, asked me to stay in one lane instead of cutting the angles on the curves.

I told him "look ahead, and look behind .. not a single car in sight" But he likes feeling more in control, and the lines on the road are like rules for him, I guess ;-( Still was a nice drive after I started behaving. Coming around some curves on the way back to Vancouver you can look out across the Pacific all the way to Japan.

Heading back up to Whistler tomorrow in a great little AWD skimobile with fold-down rear seat full of ski gear ... my '92 Ebony SVX!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

After Rain-X restoring the headlights, installing the 35w 6k DDM Tuning HIDs, LED Switchbacks and applying the Eurolight Black Tinting... I've finally installed them on the Laguna after many months of sitting on the shelf. With time off from work I felt the need to be somewhat productive and figured it would be nice to finally finish up this long and slow process of the headlights project before the end of the year . So much left to be done for this car but progress is being made. ...this is at like 4am:

Short Video Clip:

It's neat how the clean housings with the slight tint make them look like glass.

Cool! How bright are those turn signal LED's in the daytime? I've been thinking about doing something to make the front turn signals brighter.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

+1 on the good job on the headlights, they look great. I need to do both my cars soon - thanks for the inspiration.

And + another 1 on the load resistors to take care of the hyper blinking, they should work fine. Just attach the two wires of the resistor across the two wires on the blinker harness that go to bulb ground and power for blinking (not the wire for the dim parking light part of the bulb). Does that make sense? I can clarify better if you need. Then just zip tie it up out of the way. You'll have to take off the corner light to get to that obviously.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Not a big deal, but the 1st real winter driving I've done with my SVX. Yesterday, it was about 250 km of highway to a national park for new year's which was great. But today was 50 km of 2-rut roads that was no problem for the SVX even with its low ground clearance. I've got studded snow tires and had no problem following an Outback on roads that the only other 3 vehicles we saw were full-size pick-ups. The 'only' problem was finding the brake pedal with my big winter boots....

Happy New Year!

Or you can replace the flasher with one made for leds, thats what I did I have not replaced the front bulbs yet but when I do I wont need to worry about them.

You need this one
http://hidlightsusa.com/product.asp?id=RL-CF-14

CF-14 is less common then CF-13 the only difference are the leads are reversed.
If you get the cf13 you could run wire from the cars plug, connecting to the right prong or if you can do it pull the prong out of the cars plug and reverse them.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got my "crystal clear" corners (not JDM corners, but modified USDM corners with crystal clear lenses) on the car today and fixed the clear lenses on the headlights. I'll post photos when I install the headlights.

@ Subix - The whole front light array looks like glass! Awesome! Love the tinting!
