Tom:
Congratulations. That looks great. Now that you're official, I'll have to bring my buggy down for some WV TLC. By the way, I'm about to get a new garage also. For re-sale value, am making it a 3-holer, Free-standing, with a loft and bathroom above, and connected to the house with a canopied walkway. It will have a low-rise (42 in.) lift in one of the slots. I wish I had time to work on it myself, but the economic fact of the matter is that I'm better off spending more time at work in NYC, so my bonus is bigger, so I can afford to hire someone else to build it. Not quite as much fun, I'm afraid, but that's life. Look forward to seeing your new construction. Dan

Tom:
This probably is in the wrong forum, but Harry had been talking up a track day at Summit Point in the spring. That's near you I think. In any event, we could make it a meet, and I'll throw in a case of Asti (which I have heard is your beverage of choice) for a late launching ceremony for your garage. I just need to find a track day group that has instructors for noobies at that track. Learned my lesson at Lime Rock about driving a new track without some laps with an instructor. Back to your thread. Yeah fun. I used to take on major projects around the house, none so large as building a garage, but digging french drains and a sump and installing a pump in the unifinished part of the basement in my house in Atlanta, after the furnace and water heater were flooded out. Doing some roof repair after a limb fell through the roof into my dining room. All somewhat grueling, but a real feeling of accomplishment when it was over. But no time now. Best I can do is draw the garage construction documents on my laptop on the train during my commute. I've become a "suit." Dan

Started to build a 12' wide, 3' tall, 16' deep, storage shelf 12' in the air, above the lift area.
The lowered ceiling should make it easier to keep the garage warm, and you can never have too much storage! ![]() ![]() ![]() OK, I should have built a bigger garage. ![]()

Looks good, Tom!!
BTW, a nice thick sheet of plastic across the top will hold a lot of heat in until you get the roof edges finished ..... See you Thursday!! Harry
