Every now and then I instill/install a subtle message, just to see who "gets it".
I still have my 76 RE5, with a brand new "rotor proper".
My second street bike.
6000 redline, it REALLY ran at 9000!!!
Thank you guys, for getting it!
And remembering.

Cool...got any pix? I have always had a soft spot in my heart for an RE5....the three I looked at were 76's....there were only 2 sold in Lakeland and the dealer turned me on to the owners, none would give them up, so I had to settle for a Katana 600. Ah, those were the days.

Well, I wanted a bike and not anything like the huge superbikes. The 600 fit me well, being 6' 2" tall. Besides, unless yer into bikes, no one knows the difference anyway. I agree with your spelling, did some try to tell you otherwise? Today, people don't have to know how to spell, when I was growing up, it was mandatory.

the actual insect is a "praying mantis" because his front legs are held in front in a prayer position.....

I know this has nothing to do with anything.....

Boy did this thread get hijacked!
We just bought a Harley-Davidson today. First bike we've had in 12 years. We are super-excited. Unfortunately won't be able to take it out much this weekend because we have out-of-town company who wouldn't like to be ignored (i.e., my mother). But the next weekend we're taking it (assuming we can find bags we can afford) on a 500 mile round trip. So excited!!! The only way I would be more excited would be if we had been able to get me my own bike too.

I'll ask the guy here at work about it, but that was 4-5 years ago, so who knows where it'd be by now....

By the Way, since we've turned this into a bike thread....I just sold my 87 Super Magna (had one since it was new) and bought a 2004 Moto Guzzi Breva....great bike...Italian style...

From Webster's New World Dictionary;
prey, n.3,the mode of living by preying on other animals

As in "It's a really fast motorcycle that can prey on lesser motorcycles.

I also like the term "Vicious Cycle".

My God! Webster's has slipped farther down than their already low level of respectability. In grade school, if I ever tried to define a word by using the word, I would have been failed on the spot.

Yes.

Praying is when you are on a 140 HP motorcycle going 145 mph and you are scared to death...
Preying is when you are on a 140 HP motorcycle going 145 mph and you are
THRILLED TO BE ALIVE!!! able to pick and choose your prey!

Praying? Preying?

Yeah, praying is what MG owners do every time they get behind the wheel. (Praying the thing doesn't break down again.....)

(I'm not dissing MG's -- my ex-husband was an MG fanatic and it is generally agreed among MG owners that you spent more time fixing them than driving them. When them Miata came out, it was hailed as a "reliable" version of the MG.)
