Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

The engine is out of my '92 and being prepped to go into the '97. Should on the road again next week!

Now my mechanic is wondering what else might fit into the '92....

Beautiful day here in Auckland so I dragged the old girl out of storage today, dusted her off and gave her a bath. Very therapeutic too

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got 2 new knock sensors shipped for the Laguna and finally got a new cat and exhaust fixed on the Beast for $200, after almost a year of dealing with its tortuous loud noise, I'm not the only person who will benefit, now others don't have to deal with hearing the gargle noise. 1up for not sounding like a ghetto beater, finally

Heading down to get a fresh oil change and have it ready for winter! Good stuff...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I checked my MPG again (fill up drove 42 miles and filled up ) took 2,4 gallons of gas. This time I drove it more than just back and forth to work, I drove around some after work . I shifted at 3,000 pm and kept my foot out of it, most of the time( I can't resist it all the time <LOL>) This was a more realistic test of In town driving . Pleased with the results . My pearl with original auto was never much Better than 12.5 MPG in town ... Next test is a trip Pearl auto , best was 27MPG

Looked at the smoke coming out of the engine bay and made a mental note to call the garage to have it looked at.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Brought my '97 home last night with a rebuilt engine using my '92 as a donor. She's running well and strong!

All I got done today is to re-program the remote keyless fobs.

Piss poor I know in terms of accomplishing anything, but tomorrow is another day!

That's pretty good actually. Not a lot of people still have the keyfobs, and I'm very proud to have them for each of mine.

What all is still left to sort out before it's where you want it?

What's left? There's a CEL that I 'think' is from the 3rd O2 sensor. Other than that, though, all is good!! I bought this '97 because it was in excellent, un-modded shape and already had the STi wheels which is all I wanted changed.

Hopefully, it's just going to be regular maintenance for the next 100,000 km until the TB needs to be done again

Oh, I do need to get a set of snow tires pretty soon. Global warming ain't happening soon enough up here
