Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

@Gamesy... Lol.. But I'm in SOUTH Mississauga!

If it gets snotty out, there's still 4 snows on my '02 WRX..

I love the way the 18s' look and grip ( Hancook Ventus ), but I sure wasn't expecting the way it wants to climb up out of the ruts in the road all on it's own. The tires love flat pavement, any other surface requires a more "hands on" approach than I was used to.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Had a couple of pulleys changed on the Black Beauty, and converted from R12 to R134. Nice and cold again!

Drove it! Pulls to the right a bit and the steering pump(s) whine. I wonder if my guys put the right fluid in it...

I also committed to buying all the parts for the collision repair. Sorry guys, there isn't much left out there.

I was able to get a 07 6 speed with less then 8k miles and the ACT light flywheel with it.
Can you take pics? I still need to modify my clutch pedal set for my swap.

Holy giant pictures!

For anyone who might need some, I took a bunch of pictures of my pedal set during my swap:

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Replaced the corroded battery terminals with new brass ones. The positive side was nice and easy, but the negative needs a ring terminal to make it nice and clean.

Im trying to narrow down the reasons why the battery kept dying.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Swapped some Glass headlight lenses from a UKDM to a JDM..

I now have Glass headlights, with Fog lights!

So.. I placed my Glass headlights in a 200 degrees centigrade oven. First time around I left it for about 6 minutes. This was a mistake. While I extracted the glass lens OK, the rear was basically destroyed.

The 2nd was for about 4 minutes, and while the lens was hard to remove.. patience does it.

Then I cooked my JDM headlights. The first was for 4 mins, but this is too long for acrylic lenses, so they suffered some damage.

The 2nd was for about 2.5mins, and was 100% successful.

After cleaning the glass lenses, and the reflectors on the JDM lenses, I reassembled, the glass onto the JDM backs, and cooked for 2 mins each.

I how have glass headlights with all three bulbs working.

your lucky you didn't destroy the headlights, it should have been 110C temps for 5-6 mins

That makes sense.. I had read about 250 for 5 - 6 mins.. I now realise that was 250 Fahrenheit *NOT* Celsius. Anyway, it was a success.. albeit risky.

The glass lamps are completely worth it. Hope you enjoy!

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got my subframe stripped down and ready for cleaning. Next is dropping the tank so I can start on the brake and fuel lines.
