Re: Every member please check in here!
My red one spent some time up north so has a few minor rust issues, but the others are either southern or southwestern cars. Actually just a little spot on one door on the red and I have a perfect door to replace it with when decide to get it repainted. Well, and nuts underneath are difficult to remove, but always replace with good ones when do any work. Soooo, guess eventually it will be all nice and clean too.

Re: Every member please check in here!
I have noticed a lot of these cars on eBay are up in New York or PA. maybe because of the all wheel drive and the bad winters up there.

Re: Every member please check in here!
hey guys my name is sara and i own a 1992 svx ls
i have 110,683 miles on it now. im a lurker but i would like to post if this forum is active! i do need some advice about my svx i think it has a tps problem. my car revs up and it doesnt pick up speed. it shifts gears fine but it gets difficult for her. also when im on the freeway driving 60 to 70 and if i let go of the accelerator i feel this lil bump bump. like it is not staying in gear. basically i have to keep hitting the gas to keep up. whats up? |

Re: Every member please check in here!
You can check your tps voltage readings with a multimeter.
There are three wires going into the tps harness, the middle one/white one is the one that you want to check. With the key on (ENGINE OFF!) it SHOULD read about 0.48 volts with the throttle closed and about 4.5 volts at wide open throttle. But thats not what sounds like.

Re: Every member please check in here!
Sara.....sounds like the 4 EAT tranny is starting to fail unfortunately...check the easy things like fluid level. Can you drive off running through the gears (starting in 1st) shifting from 1st-2nd, etc. without any "flaring', that is, shifting and hitting the accelerator but the car doesn't accelerate ?

Re: Every member please check in here!
I don't know if I posted here or not. I nearly bought an SVX last year with the intention of converting it to electric, but sadly it fell through. Since then circumstances have changed so no project car for me for a while. But maybe one day the gods will smile on me and I'll be able to have a go at it.

Re: Every member please check in here!
Put it on a Tesla chassis.
I would think that you'd find a lot of conversion support for a conventional conversion in Ontario. Any time I research conversions for my machines I seem to end up reading about someone in Ontario having done it already. I hope you get to do it! You'll be the first. |

Re: Every member please check in here!
I was going to fill the big engine bay with lithium cells and have a motor to the rear diff and a second diff under the battery pack in the front. But money was tight, then the Model 3 was unveiled and I figured by the time they start making it I'd be able to afford it. Still working on that. Definitely want an SVX anyway, even if I keep it as a dino burner haha.

Re: Every member please check in here!
Welcome Thalass. Resisted the major mods and am just enjoying the dinosaur burners for what they are. Still purring along daily after 12 years. Just get a good one. The project cars were a lot of effort and a loss of money.
